Pre-Commissioning Engineer

Location: UAE or Singapore

Subsea 7 is looking for talented Pre-Commissioning Engineers to join our Installation discipline in our regional Engineering Department.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for ensuring a firm understanding of Engineering Management and Control Procedure.
  • Provide skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice. Understands clients’ needs; identifies and addresses design parameters and problems; develops and implements solutions.
  • Responsible for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to DO, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, CTR input, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.
  • Manage pre-commissioning subcontracts including the raising of purchase orders, tracking of variation orders and approving all final invoices.
  • Assist during tender process by producing pre-commissioning scope of works and strategies.
  • Assist during tender process with technical evaluation and budget costing.
  • Assist with review and assessment of pre-commissioning subcontract frame agreements.
  • Produce pre-commissioning philosophies / scope of supply statements at the start of projects to define the works cope.
  • Identify resources required for each project and produce Subsea 7 overall pre-commissioning strategy in relation to pipelines, umbilicals (fluids, electrical, fibre optic) and electrical/fibre optic cables.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

  • M.Sc or B.Sc in Civil or Mechanical engineering, or Marine engineering focused on marine structures
  • Experience from the marine/offshore/oil & gas industry is not required
  • Experiences with design according to Eurocodes and DNV is preferred

 

PERSONAL SKILLS 

  • Ability to function within a design/installation team and across multiple projects.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform senior team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Manage interfaces within a project structure, including other disciplines, drawing office, document control, project management, client and suppliers.
  • Manage change control within own remit on a project as defined in Risk Assessment and Management of Change Procedure. Inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of programme or budget.
  • Can work within time/budget constraints.
