Your mission

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of our largest, most complex and highest risk projects worldwide

Working within the Systems Engineering department, the Project Risk Analyst will be responsible for ensuring consistent application of effective risk management processes to support engineering projects delivered by the GPC&AP organisation through FEED, tendering and EPCI execution phases. This shall include promotion of risk awareness within the engineering teams, application of risk management processes and tools to support projects, and auditing of projects to measure and improve the effectiveness of our risk identification and management activities in supporting successfully project delivery.

The role shall also include responsibility for ensuring that the risk management processes applied for engineering work in synergy with those applied in other parts of the Subsea7 project delivery teams (including commercial and operations). This shall also include integration with Alliance partners (SIA), and early engagement teams to provide seamless hand-over of risk management during transition between project phases.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

  • Support Tendering & Project Engineering Managers in implementation of effective technical risk and opportunity identification, management techniques and processes for all GPC&AP engineering tenders and projects
  • Facilitate risk and opportunity workshops, and support engineers in completion of probability and consequence assessments, effective mitigation action setting, task follow-up / closure and associated residual risk analysis
  • Monitor and audit tender and project teams to ensure consistency in methodology and thoroughness of risk management application across GPC &AP engineering activities
  • Evaluate effectiveness of technical risk management processes and tools, develop performance indicators, and identify areas of improvement
  • Ensure lessons learnt and associated knowledge regarding successful risk identification, management and mitigations are transferred across GPC&AP tender and project teams
  • Compare benchmarks with current and past projects to develop Risk Models
  • Communicate effectively across wider Subsea7 organisation and with Alliance partners to learn, share knowledge, best practice and competence, and ensure that GPC&AP technical risk management processes integrate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Develop and foster a positive risk management culture throughout the GPC&AP engineering organization

 

Your profile

The Project Risk Analyst shall be degree educated in a technical discipline (i.e. business management engineering/quantity surveying/law etc.), and have a background in risk assessment/management preferably in the delivery of major engineering projects or in the construction industry. The Project Risk Analyst shall have demonstrable technical background combined with good commercial insight.

Key personal skills and experience shall include the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project risk management principles
  • Experience in facilitating risk / opportunity brainstorming workshops
  • Experience with risk management database and action tracking tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders across international / cultural boundaries
  • Desire to promote and enforce application of risk management processes amongst project stakeholders
  • Pro-active mindset to question and challenge individuals and process to deliver continuous improvements in project risk management
