The Marine Automation Engineer will be responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of all industrial automation equipment onboard.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively contribute to the safety regime on the vessel.
  • Carry out other related tasks when required by management.
  • Perform maintenance on PLC’s, PC’s and network.
  • Manage software updates, licenses and documentation.
  • Implement small modifications in hardware and/or software.
  • Use the Company’s planned maintenance procedures for planning and registration of activities.
  • Assist ETOs with their daily duty.

Qualifications:

  • As per applicable Offshore Integrated Training Matrix.
  • Industrial ICT and/or electronic technical background.
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Systems (preferably Kongsberg).
  • Knowledge of Industrial Automation Systems.
  • Knowledge of common industrial Networks.
  • Knowledge of common communication interfaces, RS-485, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet, RS-232.
  • Knowledge of fibre optic networks.
  • Knowledge of administration IT and Entertainment Systems, Software (Windows, Cisco, Bazeport, Marlink).
  • Knowledge of planned maintenance systems (preferably TM Master).
  • Knowledge of Rolls-Royce Propulsion Systems automatization
  • Knowledge of MAN Engines automatization
  • Knowledge of Ingeteam VFD drives.
  • Knowledge Main Crane Liebherr HLC automatization.
  • Understanding and reading of Electrical and Electronic Drawings (including IEC 60617, JIS)
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
