What is the role? 

Subsea7 are looking for Project Engineers of all levels to join our Pipeline Group (PG) Team based at one of our main engineering hubs in London, Paris, Stavanger, Kuala Lumpur, or Houston.  Working in either our Methods or Analysis teams you will be part of a team responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation methods and analysis to projects and/or tenders supported by the group with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations. 

Working in the PG Installation team you will deal with different pipeline installation methods (S&J Lay, reel lay) for packages of work on live projects which can be anywhere in the world, supporting both onshore and offshore phases.  You will also work on active tenders and where applicable lead teams and/or scopes of work.

What will your responsibilities involve?

  • You will be involved in conceptual studies and perform installation analysis on a wide variety of projects and tenders, ensuring that the installation procedures and associated calculations are in line with company and client specifications
  • Produce installation method statements and procedures, support procurement activities and subcontract follow up, proactively support HSEQ activities and prepare and deliver technical presentations
  • Installation rigging calculations and rigging design
  • Managing interfaces with subcontractors and internal clients
  • Provide support to offshore operations with possible short periods offshore or on yard
  • Participate in training and development of engineering team
  • Assist Tendering department with feasibility studies, method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support
  • Follow your scope offshore on our installation vessels

What are we looking for?

  • You will be degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology / Civil / Mechanical or equivalent
  • You will have experience working in an installation methods or analysis engineering role, ideally within rigid/S-Lay/J-Lay pipelay projects
  • Ideally you will have previous offshore worksite experience
  • For analysis focused candidates you should have experience working with Abaqus and Orcaflex.  Experience of working with other software such as Python and VBA would also be an advantage
  • You will have excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
  • You should be a strong team player with the ability to function as a team member across multiple projects and departments
