DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

The Global Projects Centre & Asia Pacific (GPC & AP) is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its largest projects worldwide.

You will be supporting tenders and/or projects for the technical follow-up of the flexible package.


SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
These shall include but not be limited to the following;

  • Understand Client needs to develop specification for Suppliers.

  • Interface with the suppliers and to evaluate the various proposals.

  • Support the selection of the Supplier through technical evaluation.

  • Interface with project team, engineering teams and SCM.

  • Develop a supplier design dossier to demonstrate compliance of the selected design and convince client experts.

  • Plan, detail and review technical documentation relating to flexible, subsea hardware and topside interface.

  • Follow-up Flexible design activities, fabrications, and testing.

  • Manage the design analysis, and undertake, and check others’, analysis, design and engineering activities associated with Flexible cross section, terminations, bend restrictors etc.

  • Ensure design and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry Codes, Standards and Design Guides (e.g. API 17J, DnV, ISO); Client Specifications and Scopes of Work, and Subsea 7 internal standard (BMS).

  • Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed in-place design reports, specifications, material take-offs, etc.

  • Maintain constant awareness of the overall project/tender planning and responsible of the planning of Scope of Work.

  • Ensure progress and compliance of the supplier in close interface with SCM function.

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with the latest HSEQ, and Group procedures.

  • Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.

  • Provide engineering assistance during mobilisations and occasional periods of offshore or site working, including FATs, SITs, Pre-commissioning, etc.

  • Participate as required in events such as Bid Clarifications, Kick off meetings, HIRAs, Design Reviews, etc.

  • Attend to project audits related to Engineering Activities as and when required.

  • Attend to project engineering reviews as and when required.

  • Ensure that know-how is transferred within the discipline and to attend discipline meetings as required.



PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Professional qualifications: BEng or above in an engineering degree or equivalent qualification.

  • Relevant experience preferably in offshore industry.

  • Past experience in flexible design and fabrication process.

  • Proficient in FEA modelling and have knowledge with the Orcaflex software.

  • Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to Drafting Office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various 3rd-party submissions.

  • Experience in working in a multi-disciplined system engineering team.

  • Ability to prioritise own workload, manage time accordingly and inform team members where constraints will affect a project in terms of program or budget.

  • Demonstrate ability to work within time/budget constraints.

  • Ability in Vendor and 3rd Party interface.

  • Ability in working in multicultural group.

  • Fluent in English.



SYSTEMS WHERE A FURTHER KNOWLEDGE IS WELCOME

  • Subsea flexible pipe installation.

  • Flexible pipe design and fabrication process.

  • Knowledge on on-bottom stability, routing, crossing etc.

  • OrcaFlex In-place / Installation Analyses.

  • Package management.

  • Offshore experience.

  • TCP design and fabrication process.

  • Umbilical system design.



WORKING CONDITION

  • Majority of the work is carried out in the regional main office site – Kuala Lumpur

  • Offshore / Off-site location during project Execution phase as required.

  • Working hours according to local regulation and Company's policy
