OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Subsea 7 is a seabed-to-surface engineering, construction, and services contractor to the offshore energy industry worldwide.

The Senior HSE Advisor acts as the focal point for designated Project HSE matters. They will provide a support function to project management, ensuring adequate HSE input and provide a mentoring role for less experienced HSE Advisors.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

• Lead a positive HSE culture and behaviour across Subsea 7 and particularly within their sphere of influence.
• Lead HSE in supporting Project Management Team(s) in complying with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Champion the Subsea 7 Critical Safety Behaviours Programme, setting the tone and leading by example.
• Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the function's activities within the designated area of responsibility.
• Supports project leadership in implementing the management system.
• Responsible for the co-ordination, preparation, and delivery of the project HSE deliverables.
• Supervises, co-ordinates and monitors HSE performance, Objective and Targets.
• Assists project management team(s) in defining its HSE resource requirements.
• Ensure HSEQ capitalises from Lessons Learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
• Identifies and co-ordinates worksite deployed HSE personnel.
• Ensure the client’s HSE Management System requirements are communicated and implemented.
• Review areas of inspection such as procedures, Permit to Work (PTW), HIRA, emergency response procedure, drill and exercise, emergency equipment, hygiene, and cleanness.
• Participate in the investigations of incidents and accidents, advice and assist line management in writing reports (using Synergi), analysis of root cause and follow up for the implementation of recommendations.
• Conduct client’s safety inductions and client’s expectations for all crew including client’s safety rules.
• Daily monitor safety observation program, all open items will be extracting to tracking the action item.
• Participate/facilitate in HIRA as part of Risk Assessment (RA) process.
• Function as HSE project support of all live projects in the region and other business units.

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

• Operate within the Business Code of Conduct
• Operate according to Subsea 7's Management Principles
• Support standards and procedures for the HSE Function

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE, Engineering or related fields
• Strong command of English
• Preferably with a minimum of 8 years HSE or operational experience in Oil & Gas business, especially in EPCI including SURF related operations in a supervisory position
• Possess a recognized Safety Professional Certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution
• Candidates from other non-Oil & Gas industry, including marine, will also be considered
• Valid Green Book or NEBOSH certificate is an advantage but not essential.
