What is the role?

The Cable Installation Delivery (CID) Vessel Delivery Manager (VDM) is the vessel’s single point of contact for project and tendering teams; providing continuity of knowledge regarding the vessel’s capabilities, performance, cost base and technical library.

During project execution, the Vessel Delivery Manager acts as CID package manager for vessel standard scopes. Supporting the Project Manager and the Offshore Management Team (OMT) to deliver the vessel program according to schedule, whilst ensuring constant, efficient, and safe ways of working.

This role will be based in our Taipei office, Taiwan on a permanent basis.

What will your responsibilities involve?

The CID Vessel Delivery Manager is accountable for:

  • Main POC for allocated Installation Support Vessel/s (ISV) with Installation Delivery, Projects & Tenders
  • Delivering a vessel to the project that:
    • operates safely
    • operates efficiently
    • is fully ready to operate (mobilisation)
    • remains fully operational throughout the project life
  • Coordinate the vessels T&T scope, T&T  personnel & operations planning through engagement with the CID Pull-in and T&T workstream manager.
  • Manage the vessels standard task activities to the project as per the CID RACI matrix using the resources supplied within the CID group. Including scope preparation, planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Ensure project engineering procedures related to the CID scope of work is prepared prior to execution via the CID Engineering and Vessel crew teams.
  • Manage vessel performance, cycle times, lessons learnt log to allow for continuous operational performance efficiency, feeding cycle time data to the CID Tendering Manager and the CID Engineering Director where applicable.
  • Continuously improving vessel safety, HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) promoter to allocated vessel and joint owner of any HSEQ vessel engagement/improvement plans.
  • Maintaining and updating the technical library for the vessel and its equipment, Standard Task Plans (STP), vessel data book and performance norms for specific activities carried out by the vessel and its equipment.
  • Mobilisation Planning/Coordination in liaison with the Project Manager and Vessel Superintendent.
  • Operational Crew Management of allocated vessel, Project POB (Persons on Board) support and liaise closely with the Vessel Superintendent on overall manning levels/issues. Review rotation plans for experience sharing across the renewable fleet.

What experience are we looking for in this role?

  • Third-level technical or similar university degree, with significant years of experience in offshore industry and offshore experience.
  • Understanding of inter array cable lay operations
  • Proven operational experience with cable lay and installation support vessels.
  • Proven marine and cable lay technical knowledge
  • Proven ability to solve operational problems without supervision and deliver effective results to internal clients
  • Contribute to creating and managing a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway7, providing safety leadership and championing Seaway7's critical safety behaviours
