Marine Assistant

Location: Sharjah- UAE

Subsea 7 is looking for talented Marine Assistants to be based in the UAE on permanent basis as part of the Middle East Business Unit for primarily supporting the Marine Operations Depart (OOK).

The Marine Assistant will be directly reporting to the Marine Operations Manager (OOK) and will be working in conjunction with other support departments.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Prepare SOWs for charter of third-party vessels
  • Prepare SOWs for various services related to vessel mobilizations (catering, H2S, IT etc.)
  • Liaise with the SCM Chartering team, vessel owners, Subsea 7 port captains and port engineers on routine basis
  • Prepare TBEs for vessel charters and other associated works
  • Coordinate and plan pre-on hire vessel inspections with Subsea 7’s internal marine inspection team or third-party inspectors
  • To keep track of follow up on pre-on hire vessel inspections
  • Coordinate and keep track of MWS inspections – Suitability Inspection, On-Hire Condition Inspection, On/Off Hire ROB inspections
  • Prepare and submit letter requests to Client for vessel mobilizations – Provisional Approval letters, Request for Aramco charts and publications, No Objection Letters etc.
  • Liaise with and assist Operations team for support on marine operations

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 

  • A degree/diploma in marine, logistics or another relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Middle East with EPCI contractors, marine vessel owners, logistics operations or with marine inspection companies
  • Familiar with Saudi Aramco system for marine mobilizations, vessel charters and operations
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English; good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Domestic travel and at times international

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
  • Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision
  • The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously
  • Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
