ABOUT THE Project Cost Controller POSITION

The Project Cost Controller ensures accurate, timely and value added analysis and reporting of cost on Projects.  The discipline contributes to the effective running of projects and comprises responsibility for, but not limited to cost performance status and financial reporting.

  

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities

 

  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost effective management and delivery of the cost control activities within assigned projects
  • Interface with budget owners to review budgets and commitments and challenge forecasts
  • Prepare cost and financial input to the PMSR (Project Monthly Status Report)
  • Analyze variances from As Sold to Current Estimate At Completion (EAC) by building a detailed monthly analysis of variances from prior forecast
  • Establish and maintain project coding WBS/NWA structure in SAP and EcoSys
  • Perform monthly accounting closing and post project cost accruals and unbilled Revenue in SAP and EcoSys
  • Prepare and issue all project invoices and maintain invoice register updated. Prepare the Revenue Reconciliation monthly
  • Prepare project cash flows in support of the Group's Treasury requirements for cash flow forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, process and procedures and strive for continual improvement and the application of best practice

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree qualified ideally in Cost Management, Finance or Engineering
  • Experience in SAP and ideally EcoSys (or any other Project Cost Management software)
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills. Comfortable with numbers manipulation
  • Ability to proactively look for and identify improvement solutions
  • A high attention to detail and a fundamental desire for delivering the best possible product at all time, including the ability to deal efficiently with priorities and manage time appropriately
