The Vessel Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate provision of all financial information including forecasts and budgets for the Subsea7 and Charter vessels assigned to them.

This diverse and challenging role provides excellent experience in, and exposure to, vessel accounting within a successful global organisation.   

What will you be doing?

  • Daily support to the Vessel Superintendents in relation to vessel finances.  
  • Preparation of detailed monthly management accounts for vessels assigned.
  • Preparation of monthly analytical review for assigned vessels, including but not limited to:
  1. Variance analysis
  2. Identify and report variances / areas of concern to Vessel Superintendents and Fleet Accountants
  3. Upload and review forecast results
  4. Identify and report sensitivities to Fleet Accountants
  • Preparation of Annual Budgets and input to 5 Year Plan.
  • Assisting the preparation of the forecast vessel utilisation for monthly reporting and budgets.
  • Capex reporting for vessel related capex and dockings.
  • Cash flow analysis for the vessels assigned to them.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Degree level education and/or qualified by relevant experience in similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Excel and other Microsoft products.
  • Exposure to Business Finance Capital (BFC) is preferred, but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, accustomed to report writing.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships at all levels, internal and external (e.g. Auditors).
  • Collaborative team worker who also demonstrates initiative and ownership.
  • Pro-active and solutions-based, questions and will challenge the status quo.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and an ability to work with detail and high accuracy.
  • Strong planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business.
