DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The Field Development Group is part of the S&M team and is responsible for managing and coordinating study activity throughout the early development stages including:
• Concept Screening and Feasibility studies
• Concept Select
• FEED / Design Competition
• Field development plan
• Front end design
• Front end engineering
• Subsea architect
• Subsea System Engineer
• Project engineer
• SPS
The Field Development Principal Engineer will be responsible for defining and developing Oil & Gas and New Energy systems, solutions, and offerings to meet our clients’ future needs in Asia Pacific. This versatile role also encompasses technical support to Pursuit & client engagement, hence playing an integral part in shaping the future direction of Subsea7 offering.
Working closely with multiple stakeholders, the Field Development Principal Engineer has responsibility for:
• Managing and delivering studies related to SURF, energy transition, and decarbonisation including system design, optimisation and economics.
• Developing appropriate multidisciplinary deliverables to provide the correct level of System Definition for the development phase and to meet Client expectations.
• Delivering optimal solutions which reduce project costs and delivery uncertainty.
• Coordinating input from multiple interfaces like:
o Flow Assurance & Central Engineering Discipline Teams
o Technology & product team
o Installation and operation team
• Developing and maintaining an understanding of regional challenges & dynamics, while working with the business development team to identify early engagement opportunities.
• Maintaining a network with key clients and strategic BU or partner (E.g. R&D group, product teams, Xodus, one Subsea…).
• Participate at Client Technology Workshops, Public Conferences as speaker, industry bodies conferences, as appropriate.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
The role will require the following core capabilities:
• Solid Field Development & Operations Knowledge at system level.
• Delivery of feasibility, conceptual studies, Pre-FEED & FEED SURF and Energy Transition Studies.
• Understanding of customers’ Capital Value process, Capital Budgeting & Field Development value drivers.
• Effective Client communication.
• Able to identify overall solution value drivers & understand impact on solution selection.
• Ability to clearly identify and articulate value proposition within a solution.
• Able to collaborate with & support Sales, Business Development, Strategy and Technology teams.
• Proven ability to manage multi discipline teams and drive delivery of schedule & quality of deliverables.
• Proven ability to promote & develop innovative solutions and appropriate technology to field development proposals.
• All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive culture within Subsea 7.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and Experience:
• Candidates must have proven SURF Field Development & Operations Experience working to a similar level.
• Demonstrate a background in client or consultant roles supporting early-stage field development and / or operations support activity. Some knowledge or experience of contractor / service company environments is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of Energy Transition solutions including CCUS and Renewables is desirable but not essential.
• Candidate should be degree qualified in relevant discipline related to the subsea engineering environment.
• Candidates should show a commitment to their own Continuing Professional Development.
