Job Title: Project Surveyor
Reports to: Survey Operations Manager
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
The main function of the role is to provide technical expertise and support in the definition and supply of survey related requirements to Subsea 7 projects and tenders. The role will involve working as part of an integrated project team to review client requirements, develop associated methodologies, procedures and budgets and facilitate between internal functions and external suppliers to deliver the required services.
The role will be an onshore position in the Houston office with possible occasional temporary offshore assignments and international travel as required.
Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities
· Provision of survey support to SURF/UK & GIRM/ Survey projects throughout the project life cycle
· Provide technical and commercial input to tenders
· To ensure that all Survey related activities are undertaken in accordance with Subsea 7 and UK & GIRM HSEQ procedures
· Develop project procedures and quality plans in alignment with Subsea 7 / UK & GIRM Services processes
· Work with project management team to ensure survey costs are within budget, document delivery dates are met, and final project deliverables are issued on time
· Ensure that offshore personnel requirements are identified and communicated in a timely manner to the Survey Operations Manager and Survey Skill pool
· Identify required equipment and communicate these requirements to the internal survey engineering support group to ensure timely delivery of equipment to worksites
· Support project during Client meetings
· Attend onshore calibrations and liaise with 3rd. party service providers
· Undertake project briefings/ debriefings during periods of mob / demobilization with key survey personnel / other project personnel
· To act as liaison on behalf of project both with internal and external interfaces
· Ensure that Field Reports are closed out in a timely manner with lessons learned being captured and communicated
· Collaborate with other Project Survey and Engineering personnel as required

Qualifications and Education
• A bachelor’s degree in a Survey related science subject or professional association is preferred
• Demonstrable experience in an offshore survey position as well as 5 years onshore survey experience supporting the planning and execution of SURF related operations including pre-lay, installation and as-built operations
• High level of knowledge and understanding of current offshore construction/IMR/survey techniques and technologies including but not limited to USBL & LBL positioning, Inertial Navigation Systems, spool piece metrology, data processing & reporting
IT Systems
• Must be familiar with standard business applications such as Microsoft Word & Excel
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD would be an advantage
