Based in the Sharjah, The SCM Transit Coordinator (Temporary contract for one Year) will work within the SCM Transit team reporting through the Supply Chain Management function.

The SCM Coordinator shall support country entry strategies and current country of operation with formal, detailed, and robust logistics plans. This will include optimizing import/export mechanisms, shipping guidelines, logistics procedures and liaising closely with in-country service providers

The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Senior SCM Transit Coordinator-ME. The function is embedded in the Sharjah Operations Group.

The Logistics Coordinator is expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Asist the Senior SCM Logistics Coordinator in RFQ floating, Freight Bid evaluation, in awarding, PR / PO process, SES creation and ensure forwarders will submit invoices on time.
  • Update Transit Register and associated Procedures as required on Projects
  • Liaise with SCM Team, Project Management Team, Freight Forwarder to establish schedules for project materials and equipment supply
  • Liaising with Procurement Department on Shipment Readiness, Review
  • Shipping Documents provided by vendor and make sure they are in order with Company’s Shipping SOPs and with destination country requirements and maintain track records of goods clearance
  • Supervise and/or advise any associated Middle East shipping/forwarding
  • Agent activities including Airfreight / Sea freight / Land Trucking / Break-bulk shipment.
  • Follow-up with freight forwarder on pre-clearance of Air freights
  • Ensuring SES are performed in coordination with IK&OOK Logistics team, invoices are cleared and paid.
  • Ability to work within an extremely busy department and cope with the pressure of meeting demanding targets and working to tight deadlines.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate / Diploma holder or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of similar operational logistics work experience.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure with tight deadline.
  • Ability to react to and support operations with 24/7 support activity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to relate with cross cultural management environment.
  • Flexible with regards to ad hoc travel.
  • Able to work independently in remote locations.

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working
  • Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
  • The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision
  • The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously
  • Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions
