What is the role?

Seaway 7 has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Customs Assistant to join the team on a full time basis. This position will be based out of our Zoetermeer office in The Netherlands.

The Logistics & Customs Assistant advises and coordinates logistics of equipment-related operations as well as vessels’ consumables, ship stores and spares.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Tracking, storage and handling of company equipment.

  • Advises, plans and coordinates on worldwide transport and shipping of equipment to and from marine spread.

  • Coordinates and liaises with local authorities with regard to any customs requirements.

  • Ensures timely delivery of equipment in accordance with the project commitment plan.

  • Advises regarding logistics and customs.

  • Ensures control of direct and indirect costs.

  • Contributes to future development of department and cooperation of department with other departments within organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Maritime or similar

  • Cargadoor 1 and 2

  • Experience with managing sub-contractors

  • Experience with budgeting and reporting

  • Experience in customs (import/export/dual use/customs bonded warehousing )

  • Experience in logistics ( Air-/ Sea- / Road- / Inland river transport /Project cargo handling /Ship spares / Stevedoring/ chartering)

  • Trained as Customs Agent / Declarant / Knowledge of tariff code

  • Trained with regards to International Maritime Dangerous Goods

  • Trained with Incoterms

  • Several years’ experience within logistics (experienced freight forwarder import/export/project cargo/ship spares/chartering )

  • Several years’ experience within the Offshore Renewables Industry

  • Experience in marine operations, mobilization /demobilizations and portcalls (dealing with port agents)

  • Used to create /work with shipping documentation such as shipping invoice / (cargo) manifests / B/L instructions, etc.

  • Safety awareness

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Adaptable and pro-active with a structured and methodical approach to tasks, with the ability to deliver in a time-sensitive situation / Used to work in a busy project environment with multiple stakeholders

  • Solutions based with comprehensive planning, coordination and organisation skills. Proficient in the use of IT applications, including MS Office Suite and SAP.

  • Professional or fluent in Dutch & English language

  • Knowledge of Dutch and Europe based ports.
