OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The Technical Support Specialist for the Mobile Tooling Group is accountable for the readiness and technical supervision of Mobile Tooling Group equipment within Offshore Resources. The Technical Support Specialist will ensure Subsea 7 owned Mobile equipment is managed in according to Subsea 7 equipment assurance policy. The support specialist is responsible for the Mobile Tooling Group fleet of equipment, ensuring that the equipment operates as per technical specification, is maintained as per Subsea 7 maintenance processes and to provide technical assistance when required while the equipment is operational.

The role is accountable for contributing to the development of all Subsea 7’s policies and procedures.   

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Primary responsibility is for the reediness and support of Offshore Resources Mobile Tooling Equipment.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of company’s preventative planned maintenance and certification program.
  • Provision of technical assistance to all Company departments on all aspects of maintenance for Mobile Tooling Equipment.
  • Assisting in setting annual maintenance budget.
  • Support of equipment maintenance onshore by working with regional workshops, to achieve required work scopes in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • During all maintenance activities, liaise with and communicate the equipment status to the OR Equipment Manager.
  • The management and maintenance of documentation relating to the safe operation and reliability of equipment, including but not limited to Risk Assessments, Management of Change records, Drawings, Maintenance Instructions, SUWER Assessments, Wire assurance, SMART Lessons, Access Survey, Working at Height, Financial Reports, Specifications, Photographic Records.
  • Responsibility for direct liaison with primary equipment vendors to ensure maintenance and modification works are carried out in a technically correct manor.
  • To have a working knowledge of Rules and Regulations and ensure ongoing legislative compliance of existing Group Assets.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records of onshore maintenance performed including any failures via designated maintenance system.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Equipment Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Ability to self-manage and work under own initiative.
  • Disciplined and systematic approach to workload management with proven ability to prioritize tasks.
  • As the Company conducts its international business in the English language, proficiency in verbal and written communication in English is essential.
  • Good written communications skills (in English) are desirable, as is an aptitude for report writing.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to collate detailed technical reports, plans & specifications.
  • Knowledge on maintenance systems i.e., SAP & TM Master

KNOWLEDGE

·       HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering depending on experience.

·       Relevant onshore/offshore technical experience at an appropriate level in the operation and maintenance of Equipment
