What is the role?

Seaway7 are looking for an experienced Manager Logistics & Warehousing.

The Manager L&W has the global responsibility for ensuring that goods are delivered to the business efficiently, cost-effectively, timely and in compliance with governing regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

The role is the company’s authority in managing all aspects of logistics operations, including expediting, transportation, warehousing, material tracking, inventory management, customs, compliance and supply chain management.

The Manager L&W is responsible for the development and maintenance of all processes, role descriptions and activities associated with the provision of logistics & warehousing matters in the Seaway7 business.

The role is based in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands. For the right candidate any of our office main locations can also be considered.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensure all Company Logistics & Warehousing operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Company authority for all L&W related matters.
  • Develop and manage the L&W team, including Human Resources planning.
  • Define L&W strategies to ensure that goods are delivered on time and at optimized costs levels.
  • Develop, implement and improve tools and processes to control L&W operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Governmental Regulations and Company Policies.
  • Maintain auditable records of export-controlled items and as otherwise required.
  • Analyse data related to L&W operations to identify areas for business improvement.
  • Support tender and project teams by creating logistics plans for the movement of all goods and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Negotiate subcontracts with relevant suppliers.
  • Monitor and control supplier performance. Maintain supporting data sets.
  • Define and pursue internal and external Key Performance Indicators.

What experience does the role require?

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following subjects: (i) Logistics & Supply Chain Management, (ii) Business Administration or (iii) Engineering.
  • At least 12 years of working experience in Logistics & Warehousing, of which 5 years managing a Team.
  • Experience in a globally operating project organisation, preferably with focus on (offshore) construction projects.
  • Expertise in change management and reorganisation.
  • Thorough understanding of supply chain management, including international transportation, warehousing and customs.
  • Proficient in INCO Terms.
  • Proven expertise of regulations governing transportation of goods, including customs procedures, import/export regulations, transportation documents, dangerous goods and safety standards.
  • Good oral and written communications skills. English language is mandatory.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Comfortable negotiator; easy communicator.
  • Resolving matters with a high degree of tenacity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Pro-active, resourceful and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on attitude.
  • Adequate level of stress tolerance.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Knowledge of logistics software systems like SAP ECC6, S4 /Ariba or Yellowstar.
  • Willingness to travel or work abroad from time to time.
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
