DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

 

The HR Development Specialist is accountable for managing the learning and development initiates within GOM region. The HR Development Specialist will be based in Houston, TX.

 

All personnel are required to develop and foster a positive HSEQ culture throughout Subsea 7, and drives HSEQ performance and to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to the Code of Conduct.

 

The role involves may include travel to Merida, Mexico.

 

 

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

 

  • Supports the Region's HR strategy to retain and develop talent critical to the successful delivery of the Region operational objectives
  • Creates training programmes that are aligned with the organisation’s objectives and having a strong understanding of what these are
  • Acts as the go to within the business for Managers and Local HR with questions or queries regarding training and development plans
  • Produces training materials for in-house courses as required
  • Adopts a blended approach of training techniques including classroom sessions, coaching, e-learning, workshops
  • Supports succession plans and talent management process
  • Assess the success of development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities
  • Acts as point of contact for the region with Group HR for Development subjects
  • Follow up with the countries that all employees complete their mandatory training in line with SS7 policies
  • Build relationships with external training suppliers
  • Collaborates in providing HR information for tenders and clarification on bids 
  • Supports the development of GOM HR team from a training perspective

 

 

AUTHORITY/DIMENSIONS

 

  • Operate within the Business Code of Conduct
  • Operate according to Subsea 7's Management Principles
  • Support standards and procedures for the Human Resources Function

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

 

  • Degree in Human Resource Development or similar
  • Proven track record working in a similar position within a Training and Development environment, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry (but not required)
  • Able to engage with and develop positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Project Management Skills
  • Excellent facilitation, influencing and communication skills
  • Passion for people development
  • Positive attitude to finding innovative solutions
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
