Senior SCM Specialist

The Role

 

Subsea 7 Australia have been delivering projects for our clients from the North West Shelf to the Bass Strait for 40 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior SCM Specialist to join our SCM team to support Projects and Tenders. It’s a great opportunity to join a global leader in the delivery of offshore projects and services for the evolving energy industry. We are looking for someone with strong cost & commercial acumen, contractually sound, delivery/solution focused and ability to build relationships with all stakeholders.  You will be part of an agile, diverse, and dynamic SCM team in Perth.

 

In this role, you will be supporting our EPCI Projects as a member of the supply chain team, with an accountability for the delivery of assigned significant subcontracts and/or packages on the Project. This role provides autonomy as well as the support of an experienced supply chain team and Project Manager.  The Senior SCM will have operational responsibility for the management of all assigned SCM activities and resources to Project or Tender, as required by the SCM Manager. You will be also accountable to the Project Manager or Tender Project Manager for the success of the SCM activities and deliverables assigned in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones and cost. The incumbent will need to be focused on cost, risk, innovation, being commercially astute and performance driven in support of the Projects/Tenders goals, including compilation of subcontracts, negotiations, preparation of award documentation and post award management.

 

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices. All personnel are expected to provide leadership in creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

 

 

About You 

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on EPCI projects and a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Legal, Commercial or Project Management (or qualified by experience).
  • Experience with SCM Activities (Vendor Qualification, Subcontract Compilation, Placement and Post Award Management, Frame Agreements, Procedures/Work Instructions, Purchase Orders).
  • Understand the statutory, legal, and strategic policy framework in relation to Supply Chain Management, tendering and financial management.
  • You will have knowledge of the tools and methods of supplier selection for complex and high value contracts as well as proven ability to positively influence HSE performance.
  • Awareness of the overall project schedule, planning, organisation and understanding of its drivers.
  • Show leadership and administration of major and minor SCM packages, including management of Change Orders ensure adherence to Contract requirements including contract price/budget, schedule and technical compliance.
  • Have a good understanding of the overall technical issue and a good knowledge of the Energy industry and its specificities/ candidates from non-Energy Industry are also encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates with Package Management experience with a non-SCM background who can demonstrate strong commercial and cost acumen are encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and is a team player.
  • A strong knowledge of contracting principles and a successful track record of subcontract negotiation will be highly regarded.
