We are now recruiting for Rigger/Welder to join our global team.

The Rigger/Welder reports to the Deck Foreman and is responsible the safe execution of deck activities in support of the construction work and all hot work activities as directed by supervisor.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

This will include, but not be limited to:

  • Actively reporting all undesired events and safety observations using the Safety Observation system and Undesired Events Report system.

  • Actively reporting non-conformances using the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system.

  • Actively reporting any unsafe act, condition or procedure or environmental unsafe acts and conditions to the Chief Officer so that action can be taken to manage or minimize any and all risk.

All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

Key requirements: 

  • Maintain a safe and clean deck.

  • To not use any rigging equipment beyond its SWL.

  • General rigging, deck work & housekeeping.

  • Winch operations.

  • Anode & buoyancy module installation.

  • Flexible and rigid pipe initiation/deployment.

  • Hydra-tightening, flange connections.

  • Pin-brazing.

  • Loading/offloading equipment.

  • Tensioner operations & pad change.

  • Piggyback saddle installation.

  • FLS & Moonpool operations

  • Maintenance of rigging equipment and scaffolding as required.

  • Use only rigging gear (shackles, slings, straps, etc.) which is in good condition and certified as being in-date. Where equipment is found that is not in good condition and in date, the equipment is to be isolated, marked and reported as such.

  • Ensure that gear deployed to divers/ROVs is rigged safely, adequately marked (e.g., light sticks) and in a suitable manner.

  • Ensure that the deck area is kept clean and free of all unused equipment.

  • Perform Rigid Pipelay and FlexibleUmbilical installation activities as required, to include:

  • Operation of Pipe-Facing Equipment including beveling the ends of pipe to required specifications.

  • HIAB Crane Operations

  • Carousel operations/loadouts

  • Pipelay transfer system operations.

  • Pipe handling/loading.

Perform welding/fabrication activities, to include the following:

  • Responsibility for welding/burning equipment in use.

  • Fabrication and repair of project and deck equipment as assigned.

 

Key requirements: 

  • Must hold a valid Opito approved offshore survival and OGUK medical. 

  • Must hold a valid Welding certification. 

  • Must hold a valid Opito approved Stage 1 Rigger or Banksman Slinger certification. 

  • Valid offshore medical suitable for geographical area of work.

  • Valid offshore survival course suitable for geographical area of work.

  • Compliance with the Subsea7 Competence Assurance Assessment Programme (CAAP).
