We are looking for an enthusiastic Tender Technical Lead to join our Pipeline Group (PG) Installation Engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.  Pipeline Group have hubs globally within Subsea7 and the job holder can be based out of our offices in either, Aberdeen, Sutton (London), Suresnes (Paris), Stavanger (Norway). Consideration may also be given to those who could be based out of our Houston or Singapore offices where PG also have a presence.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for the technical delivery of installation engineering activities required for all the rigid pipeline projects that are tendered by Subsea7.  They will ensure that the engineering is compliant and fit for purpose within the company’s processes and procedures and in line with client specifications.

The PG IE Tender Technical Lead will be expected to further develop and maintain the tools  and process within the PG Installation Engineering teams and ensure this is applied at each stage.

 

What will you be doing?

The role of the Tender Technical Lead within PG IE is a highly varied and changing role but below is a list of some of the key responsibilities and tasks of the position:

  • Ensure all technical deliverables are issued by Installation Engineering according to PG processes and standards, and deliverables are consistent with previous tenders, and projects.
  • Be aware of project lessons learned, and ensure those lessons learned are applied to future tenders, as and when required. Maintain all checklists that are used by Installation Engineering team to control the required tasks and ensure final quality of the engineering work on the tender.
  • Ensure Time Estimate (TE) and/or Offshore schedule are done in a timely manner and checked by Team Managers/Specialist Engineers. Ensure they are properly understood, checked, and agreed by the Vessel Operations Managers and regions/Business Units.
  • Ensure all the PG Installation Engineering reviews are done in a timely manner and with the required attendees, including stakeholders out with PG and any required regional representatives.
  • Review Installation Engineering Risk & Opportunity register. Ensure detail qualifications, and clarifications to Client specifications are done timely, and log of standard qualifications is maintained.
  • Maintain log of tenders with PG tender and Installation Engineering teams,.
  • Attend tender related meetings as required such as project kick off meetings, (regional and PG), technical engineering meetings and PG Technical Management reviews.
  • Assist in supporting and developing engineers working on tenders to ensure sound technical and commercial principles are applied.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

  • You will be degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology / Civil / Mechanical or equivalent.
  • You will have relevant experience as a project engineer in a subsea engineering field, ideally within an offshore pipeline installation role(i.e., Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay).
  • You have already proved your capability to lead technical teams.
  • Ideally you should also have experience of supporting project engineering tender processes, particularly within offshore pipeline installations.
  • Ideally you will have experience of guiding and leading teams of engineers in project scopes.
  • You should be a clear communicator, able to speak with all levels within the business, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team.
