Job Title: GPC Operations Support Manager

Reports to: GPC Senior Operations Manager

Location: London

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As part of the GPC Operations team, the Operations Support Manager is responsible for the adequate operational support to GPC projects with the aim to ensure consistency, increase predictability and maximise performance.

The Operations Support Manager supports the support functions and guarantees that operational processes are adhered to consistently and methodically across the GPC portfolio.

Key Responsibilities & Activities:

  • Develops and fosters a positive HSEQ culture throughout Subsea 7.
  • Ensures that the Subsea7 Safe System of work is regularly implemented on GPC projects and worksites to enable safe operational performance.
  • Ensures the implementation of and adherence to Subsea 7’s Management systems, professional tools, policies, systems and processes.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to the GPC Operations community to ensure standardisation of operational practices to produce predictable and reliable outcomes.

 

Operational Performance:

  • Identifies KPIs to monitor operational performance on GPC projects, including but not limited to the performance of vessels, marine bases, and onshore operations including logistics with focus to cost and schedule.
  • Develops and monitors how we measure projects performance and growth from an operational point of view and liaises with GPC Controls function to establish leading and lagging indicators and ways of reporting.

 

Operational process:

  • Owns, reviews and streamlines the Operational processes so that are fit for GPC projects.
  • Responsible to warrant a robust readiness process including format, planning reporting and peer reviews.
  • Liaises with other functions and peers from other regions and business units to identify gaps, improve and simplify the existing processes.

 

Marine Assurance: Develops and manages the Marine Assurance discipline in such a way that it contributes to readiness and early engagement in projects. Establishes a process to ensure that all aspects of Marine Assurance are covered by each project in preparation for the work, namely the assurance of the assets, the equipment and of the personnel.

Logistic and in-country support:

  • Develops the In-Country and Logistics teams and makes sure they operate according to the required standards and best practices.
  • Ensures GPC material tracking system is developed and implemented consistently across GPC projects.
  • Develops and implements Operations function automation and Digitalisation initiatives.
  • Ensures the GPC Operations Sharepoint site is kept updated with lessons learnt, relevant documentation and links.
  • Manages and actively participates in the annual review for their direct reports.
  • Supports the professional and career development of self and their team through continued professional training, mentoring, on the job development.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

  • Degree level relevant engineering and technical background
  • Practical mindset and creative attitude
  • Experience in developing processes and monitoring performance
  • Comprehensive operational/offshore experience
  • Familiar with offshore operations planning
  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Ability to manage a fast pace and diverse workload
  • High business understanding with commercial experience
  • High ability to work with diverse teams and drive convergence
