DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

 

The Market Analyst & Business Planner will manage the development and maintenance of Gulf of Mexico business opportunity data. They will also oversee updates to the C365 CRM database, define and conduct research activities, support the development of business plans, and activities as well as periodic reporting for the region in general.

 

The position reports to the Gulf of Mexico Strategy and Pursuits Manager.  The role is suitable for experienced candidates from the Offshore Oil and Gas and/or Renewables industry, or other roles requiring an in-depth understanding of offshore construction markets and the ability to gather, analyze, quality control and effectively present data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

 

  • Maintain and update the Client 365 Database in conjunction with the Sales and Marketing Team and interface with Corporate Sales & Marketing to implement global best practices.
  • Maintain and update an internal Database for monitoring and tracking Competitor activity and capability/capacity.
  • Monitor and interpret market intelligence sources (industry press, client releases and subscription services), analyze the data for market trends, client and competitor activities that impact the regions strategy, and prepare reports and presentations to support business decisions for Oil, Gas and new energy transition markets.
  • Identify, define, and collect market data and analyze to support business development plans and strategies for the emerging Energy Transition market.
  • Provide support to the Business Development team with pursuits, reporting of client interactions, and maintaining the client relationship database
  • Develop assigned regional periodic reporting requirements by ensuring correct updates to vessel schedules, resource plans and master commercial plans
  • Manage the regional Master Commercial Plan, including interfacing with Finance and Human Resources to ensure data consistency.
  • Define and conduct market analysis and studies to support regional business plans and wider group strategic plans, including participating in driving discussion on strategic thinking.
  • Assist in supporting Human Resources for resource planning against forward-looking scenarios to support proactive resource management and recruitment.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

 

  • Degree qualified (ideally in Business Management, Marketing, Economics, Information Science, Engineering) or similar.
  • Relevant industry experience in market intelligence, commercial, operations, or engineering functions.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of all common business software applications (Microsoft suite) and be able to quickly learn and maximize value from new applications. 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of data analysis using Microsoft Excel required.  Microsoft Power BI experience desired.
  • Capable of preparing and presenting high-quality, accurate, and engaging presentations and reports promptly for senior management review.
  • Fluent English – written and spoken.
