Your mission
Within the Global Projects Centre (Subsea7's centre of excellence for large-scale projects worldwide), the Rigid Pipelines team in the Design & Analyses Engineering department is responsible for the engineering of subsea pipelines and tie-in systems for offshore construction projects.
The aim of the internship is to:
- Develop a FE parametric model to define the impact of ovality on the bending moment capacity reduction for D/t > 45.
- Variable parametric studies for OD and WT with respect to above study,
- Generate plots of reduction factors of bending moment capacity with respect to OD and WT for D/t > 45,
- Summarise the work in a validation report and specify clear guidelines for future users.
The tool will be used on future projects and, in the near future, also integrated into Subsea7's overall digital development.
Your profile
It is emphasized that the proposed internship candidate possesses a knowledge of FE simulations (modelling and contact interactions) and some global understanding on mechanical design.
Student in your last year of Engineering School/Master Degree in University, with Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering background, you have knowledge of Simulia Abaqus, and Python programming is preferred.
Fluent English is required.
