Seaway7 has an exciting opportunity for engineers from diverse industries and backgrounds with demonstrable role relevant engineering experience to work as a Cable Protection System Engineer within our global fixed offshore wind Cable Protection System (CPS) Technical Department.

As a Cable Protection System Engineer you will support our global renewable tenders and active projects with the execution of scopes of work relating to fixed offshore wind CPS and associated equipment. This support shall range from early engagement, tendering, procurement, verification through to offshore installation. This position will report directly into the Engineering Manager and is to be based in our office in Aberdeen – UK, or Zoetermeer, NL.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Close interaction with global resource and recruitment teams to ensure projects and tenders are proved with effective CPS technical support and guidance.
  • Ensuring Seaway7 and internal CPS engineering guidelines & processes are complied with, reviewed and updated to keep up to date with new technology & analysis techniques.
  • Support our tender, project & procurement teams in reviewing and evaluating designs and supplier technical proposals to ensure the suitability and compliance of various CPS in terms of design, testing & reliability against internal, client and industry specifications.
  • Assisting the Project Engineering Manager to ensure that the supply package is on time, on budget, and, most importantly, in compliance with the technical requirements and highest quality standards.
  • Maintaining interfaces with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a record of changes and lessons learned.
  • Support the ongoing development of the CPS Technical Department.
  • All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • We encourage applications from those with a relevant Engineering degree (for example Civil / Mechanical / Marine / Naval Engineering) and will also consider those with equivalent technical qualifications or experience.
  • This includes considering engineers from diverse industries and backgrounds with demonstrable role relevant engineering experience, motivated to evolve their career into renewable energy sector.
  • Previous working experience at a flexible/umbilical/cable or CPS related environment would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in taking a leading role in delivering engineering scopes.
  • Experience of managing subcontractors including conducting bid reviews and providing technical bid evaluations
  • Good technical & communication skills.
  • The candidate should possesses good time management focus, ability to set priorities, be creative, enthusiastic, structured, independent, take ownership and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness for occasional travel abroad.
  • Possible participation in offshore jobs as part of the operation team to support CPS installation.
