Job Title: Tax Compliance Manager – Gulf of Mexico

 

We are looking for a Tax Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and hands on tax accountant with a strong understanding of indirect taxation and a good working knowledge of direct tax.  The key jurisdiction under remit of this role is the US, in addition to responsibilities for income and indirect taxes within the GOM region.

 

Role Specific - Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Oversee and lead team in preparation of withholding tax, sales & use tax, value added tax, business/franchise tax, and property tax returns and filings, among others in all relevant jurisdictions
  • Coordinate with external advisors and own the corporate income tax compliance preparation process
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual tax provision
  • Manage tax calendar to ensure timely compliance with filing obligations
  • Coordinate with accounts payable team to ensure tax payments are accurately submitted
  • Support the company’s sales team and supply chain management team by providing guidance of indirect tax requirements
  • Coach and develop staff to build a supportive team that encourages learning and development

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Preferred Experience and Education

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

·         CPA preferred

·         Relevant previous experience in-house a plus

·         Minimum 5 years experience in related role

 

Skills

·         Strong communication skills

·         Excellent knowledge of indirect tax principles

·         Working knowledge and experience with corporate income tax compliance and reporting

·         Embraces technology and exhibits intellectual curiosity in applying technology to solve problems

·         Pro-active approach and ability to manage multiple deadlines with an attention to detail

·         Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, including with non-tax stakeholders

·         Cultural awareness and sensitivity

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

·         SAP experience a plus
