Overview Of Role

The CAD Deputy Discipline Manager manages the local CAD Office or a segment of a large CAD Office by directing, developing, communicating, and implementing the company's direction and strategic goals. He/she will contribute to business development and marketing internally to the company's employees as well as externally to the clients as required. Participate in the development of department strategy, including structure, personnel, procedural and services. Responsibilities may include business development, budget control, project & resource management, engineering operations, performance management, training, and all other related business activities.

The main responsibilities will be as follow:

  • Provide leadership for CAD office personnel ensuring the delivery of quality work and services aligned with company standards and processes in line with appropriate legislation.
  • Independently evaluate, organise, and prioritise work by assessing resource requests and provide feedback on feasibility.
  • Interface with discipline leads and / or group leads to ensure CAD deliverable schedule is being met and budget is on track.
  • Manage internal and external CAD Office interfaces & record lessons learned and Opportunities for Improvement.
  • Participate in reviews and development of departmental procedures and work methods.
  • Identify, evaluate, and encourage training, for all team members.
  • Participate in recruitment of personnel ensuring appropriate screening is applied.

PROFILE:

  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Marine, Offshore Engineering (others may be considered);
  • Desirable knowledge of steel structures (background in offshore energy sector is a plus but not mandatory);
  • Minimum of 12 years of working experience;
  • Experience in leadership/team management;
  • Strong communication skills (English & Portuguese) and keen interest to work with other disciplines/departments;
  • Passion for team development, training, and mentoring of team members;
