Subsea7 are looking for a passionate Training & Competency Advisor on a full-time, permanent basis located at our Westhill, Aberdeen office.   This role will form part of our Project & Offshore Operations team and will play a vital part in providing advisory and coordination to this function for the development of our offshore workforce.

This will be a busy and involved role to help ensure compliance and support continual improvement of our mandatory training and competency systems for a diverse and global part of the business.  You will be supporting personnel working on our vessels offshore, and on operational sites and offices across the world.

The Training & Competency Advisor will have both ownership of and be responsible for leading regular reviews of the Subsea7 offshore mandatory training matrix content and of the Competence and Assurance Programme (CAAP) content and process.

 

What will your responsibilities involve?

This will be a varied position supporting a wide range of tasks and stakeholders. Some of the main tasks will be:

  • Collaborating with various business technical authorities to ensure training catalogue and CAAP content is current and engaging.
  • Providing expertise to the offshore learning management system team to provide guidance around crew training and competence queries and ensuring the system meets our learner needs.
  • Working with Communications to showcase our activities on our intranet, Yammer & other channels.
  • Supports HR teams with specialist advice and solutions on training and competence.
  • Development of learning content using our e-Learning authoring tool and other digital methods.
  • Providing reports to management.
  • Delivering your areas of responsibility in line with your budget.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant experience within a similar Training & Competency based role and experience with ownership and responsibility of Training & Competency processes is essential.
  • A demonstrable passion and pride in being part of someone’s learning and development experience.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and interface with widely diverse groups of stakeholders at various levels and global regions within a large organisation.
  • You will be highly organised, able to deal with prioritising a wide variety of tasks and dealing with highly changeable priorities and schedules.
  • You will have a proficient level of IT skills, particularly with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams.
