We are looking for a brilliant CAD Deputy Discipline Manager to join our team in London Global Project Centre office on permanent basis.

The CAD Deputy Discipline Manager is responsible for developing and providing expertise to the discipline in line with business requirements and ensuring technical competence for the execution of studies, tenders, and projects within their technical area of responsibility.

 What will you be doing?

  • Reports to the GPC CAD Discipline Manager (Europe).
  • Supports and collaborates with other GPC CAD Deputy Discipline Managers
  • Proficient in creation and checking of models, engineering drawings, and sketches for procedures.
  • Under broad direction assigns, oversees, checks and approves the work of the local CAD team.
  • Supports Tender, FEED and new project scope resource estimation and planning.
  • Responsible for the quality, completeness, and accuracy of produced drawings.
  • Supports the proposition, creation and updating of guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensures that all guidelines and procedures are followed in the Drafting Office.
  • Supports in department meetings.
  • Supports in recruitment and resource selection (staff and contractors).
  • Supports the GPC CAD Discipline Manager to establish and update the overall resource plan.
  • Supports the GPC CAD Discipline Manager when necessary (including covering holidays and sickness).
  • Supports in the training and mentoring of apprentices and junior staff.
  • Supports in delivering staff performance reviews for Drafting Office.
  • Proficient with latest developments in CAD tools and applications.
  • Responsible for approving weekly timesheets and holiday requests etc for the staff in the team.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Formal academic and/or engineering discipline qualifications up to degree level or equivalent.
  • Relevant previous experience at an appropriate level in design/drafting, including work at Senior/Principal level.
  • Previous experience of supervising teams of CAD Designers.
  • Extensive experience in the use of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD and Vault software.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
