Subsea7 are delighted to launch new opportunities within our highly successful Engineering Workshop Apprentice Technician programme.

Embark on an exciting journey with Subsea7 where you'll gain hands-on workshop experience and also attend college, becoming a qualified Technician through a nationally recognised Modern Apprenticeship.

We invite applications for each of the following disciplines.

  • Trainee Machinist Technician– Manufacturing metalwork parts using lathes, milling machines and other machine shop equipment, supporting maintenance activities on our ROV Equipment (based in our Tullos Workshop, Aberdeen).
  • Trainee Electronic Technician – Servicing and Maintaining a wide range of ROV and Survey electronic auxiliary sensor equipment (based in our Tullos Workshop, Aberdeen).
  • Trainee Fabrication Technician – Repairing/Fabricating various metalwork within our Equipment fleet using MIG, TIG welding techniques (based in our Westhill Workshop, Aberdeen).

Trainees will follow a structured vocational training program. The roles are onshore based and will have a dedicated work base, as well as College attendance, with the potential to also visit/work from our other Aberdeen workshop.

These entry-level roles are suited to applicants who are committed to the learning and development required to become a qualified Technician, alongside our existing teams of skilled professionals who every day support our offshore equipment resources.

What Skills Should You Bring?

  • Demonstrate a desire for learning and self-development: Prior or ongoing experience with Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) and or a National Certificate in the relevant discipline is advantageous.
  • Technical aptitude: Showcasing practical and hands-on technical hobbies will set you apart. Basic IT skills are advantageous.
  • Interpersonal skills: Communication skills are crucial for learning in classrooms and workplaces. Present yourself professionally.
  • Self-management expertise: Juggling learning and work requires good organisational skills, a pro-active and efficient attitude is essential to you to achieve your and our goals.
  • Safety-first mindset: Promoting and practising safe working standards.
