OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
- Role is within the Global Project Centre(s) Supply Chain Management function.
- Chartering of Transportation & Marine Assets to support Projects.
- Responsible for pre award market engagement, supplier selection, negotiations, placement of contract and post award management during the project.
- Support Tenders through market consultation and engagement.
- This is a staff role based in our Suresnes, France office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaises with suppliers in order to perform market screening and issuance of enquiries to the market.
- Performs commercial assessment, normalisation and evaluation of offers from suppliers.
- Issuance of bid summary and presentation to internal stakeholders.
- Supports and coordinates technical evaluations with internal functions and stakeholders.
- Leads negotiations with selected suppliers pre-contract award and through placements of Charter Party with selected owners.
- Manages the post contract award of the Charter Parties, issue of any addendum to the contracts during execute and remains focal point between suppliers and internal stakeholders until completion of the contract.
- Works pro-actively with internal stakeholders and functions to ensure all contractual obligations are communicated and understood by the internal stakeholders.
- Ensure awareness of key project schedules and planning through regular collaborations with key project stakeholders.
- Responsible for review and obtaining approval of invoices related charter party agreements.
- Responsible for tracking of costs related to each charter party against the As Sold budget.
- Ensure timely close out of the Charter Party upon completion of the works.
- Strong supplier interface during the Chartering pre and post award activities.
- Continuously endeavours to optimise cost, quality and schedule related to chartering activities.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree or Qualification in Maritime Business or Maritime Law.
- Previous experience working with BIMCO charter parties most specifically Supply Time, Heavycon, Bargehire and GENCON.
- Relevant experience in similar position with owner, broker or working for charterer.
- Strong Contracting and Negotiation skills.
- Strong communications skills.
- Capable of managing multiple and challenging requests.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.

- Strong analytical skills.
- Creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.
- Sound communication skills – able to communicate ideas and results to various stakeholders both in written reports and in meetings, presentations etc.
- The ability to work in a team as well as individually with a minimum of supervision.
- The ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously.
- Understanding of clients’ needs and ability to suggest and apply “fit for purpose” solutions.
