We are looking for a Technical Project Manager – Data Transformation to join our team in Sutton, London or Westhill, Aberdeen on an initial 6 month contract.

The Technical Project Manager – Data Transformation is primarily responsible for the successful transformation of unstructured datasets in multiple formats and from disparate sources into structured datasets and consolidated repositories that can be leveraged for data warehousing (DW) and machine learning (ML).

You will provide hands-on technical expertise to extract, transform and load (ETL) datasets into usable data stores whilst  also being responsible for managing these under the umbrella of specified projects.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Act as Technical Lead to assess current state environment and proffer solutions and recommendations for transforming datasets into a ready state for data warehousing and machine learning.
  • Lead activities around data analysis, profiling, extraction, validation, data modelling, transformation and integration from multiple disparate sources.
  • Provide means for ensuring data quality and integrity is intact post-transformation.
  • Work closely with business users to examine existing processes and data sources to develop automated solutions.
  • Transform business requirements into functional data warehouse design requirements, including the data warehouse/ETL architecture and data models (logical and physical).
  • Provide Data Transformation/ETL subject matter expertise.
  • Work with business and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to implement data quality and data governance processes.
  • Project Management support for data-centric initiatives and projects.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Proven data transformation experience in a Data Warehousing and Machine Learning role, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of Data Warehousing/ETL design, development, and implementation. Strong understanding of logical and physical data models required.
  • Experience of projects deployed in a secure cloud environment (preferably Azure) .
  • A background in business/data analysis and project management combined with excellent communications and facilitation skills would be desirable.
  • Adept exposure to data governance, data insights and data analytics.
  • Recognised Project Management qualification preferably in Agile/iterative methodologies.
