Market & Business Analyst

We are looking for a full-time Market & Business Analyst to join our Commercial Department in Zoetermeer, The Netherlands.

The Market & Business Analyst will report to the Market Analysis & Business Planning Manager, who is part of the Chief Commercial Officer’s department.

The Market & Business Analyst role is very diverse with significant exposure to senior management. The role amongst others includes the delivery of market and strategy analyses to support management decisions as well as the preparation of numerous reports and presentations. The role involves engagement with many global stakeholders with the commercial organization, including preparation of business-critical information for senior management.

 

What you will be doing

  • Conduct market analyses to identify key market trends.
  • Benchmark internal data with external market research and provide variation analyses.
  • Develop supply/demand models and forecasts on the construction vessels market.
  • Ensure that senior management and key stakeholders are fully informed about implications of research and monitoring models.
  • Internally maintain the technical part of the CRM tool (Client 365) (including testing, proposing improvements, etc.) and monitor the CRM database with a focus on data quality and integrity.
  • Track, investigate and register the financial and operational performance of peer competitors (competitor analysis).
  • Track and register the financial and portfolio performance of clients (client analysis).
  • Support senior management with relevant market and strategy presentations, including.
  • Participate in the short-term and long-term strategic planning of Seaway7.
  • Support Business Development and Tendering with relevant market, country and client presentations.
  • Automate commercial reporting using Power BI and creating dashboards for management.
  • Transfer current Power BI database to a new Power BI database due to IT development changes.
  • Develop and ensure the delivery of the Annual Budget Plan and subsequent monthly forecast and reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance and Project departments to ensure alignment on finance for forecasting

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or Engineering combined with an enthusiasm for data management and a commercial business interest.
  • 3-4 years working experience within a complex market environment.
  • High proficiency in English language.
  • Able to prepare high quality, engaging presentations and reports suitable for a senior audience review
  • Highly developed social and communication proficiencies, enabling articulate interactions across the organization's hierarchy
  • Able to seek and obtain information from diverse sources
  • Experience with data management and commercial mindset
  • Operating with the highest standard of integrity, preserving the confidentiality of the information available with the role
  • Able to be responsive in an environment of continuous improvements
  • Proficient user Microsoft Office tools (especially Microsoft Excel)
  • Advanced user of data management and data visualization tools (PowerBI)
  • Capable of progressing tasks autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Technical background or interests with exposure to maritime or offshore industry is preferred.
