Seaway7 is looking for a Senior Quality Advisor, to join our team at the Westhill, Aberdeen office on a Staff or Contract basis.
The Senior Quality Advisor is accountable for the management of all project quality activities within assigned work packages, ensuring that all aspects of the work are compliant with contractual, internal management system, regulatory and legal requirements.
The Senior Quality Advisor will provide quality leadership and direction to the Project team across all aspects of operations; both onshore and offshore, and in the management of supplier and subcontractor work packages.
The Senior Quality Advisor will also be responsible for supervising any additional project quality resources within assigned work packages.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Seaway7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Manages and monitors all quality activities and quality performance within assigned project work package(s).
- Development and implementation of project quality plan.
- Leads and delivers a Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) quality management approach.
- Leads quality assurance and control support across a diverse range of supply chain activities, including risk and criticality assessment, determination of QA/QC strategy for supplier management and pre and post award activities e.g., supplier due diligence assessment, kick off meeting, Pre-Production Meetings (PPM) and verification of readiness to commence the works.
- Manages Inspection assignments, resource selection, resource mobilisation and QC service delivery.
- Monitoring and tracking of QC Inspection spend and budget.
- Proactively supports delivery of Seaway7 predictable performance objectives
- Leads project performance improvement, including establishing effective working relationships within the project and operations teams cross functionally and externally, with the supply chain and the Employer.
- Leads project quality performance review, trend analysis and identification of areas for improvement.
- Works closely with project team on escalation of quality issues, ensuring that failure event cases are reported and investigated utilising industry recognised Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques. Leads incident investigation team as required.
- Undertakes quality discipline reviews on Employer, internal engineering and operations documents and supply chain deliverables, ensuring alignment with quality requirements.
- During quality discipline reviews, collaborates with internal subject matter experts e.g., engineering, electrical, cable and foundation installation delivery, vessel & equipment, to ensure alignment with quality requirements and deliverables.
- Leads quality attendance at internal and external project interface and discipline review meetings.
- Acts as the focal point and interface for all Employer quality matters.
- Leads development of project Master Document Register (MDR) ensuring inclusion of all quality deliverables for assigned work package(s).
- Ownership and development of MDR quality deliverables including quality plan, supplier quality requirements, Master Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and handover and as-built procedure.
- Development of risk-based project Audit plan and delivery of the Audit programme within the assigned project work packages.
- Leads quality support for project reviews – e.g., engineering reviews, risk & opportunity and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) reviews for onshore and offshore operations.
- Support delivery of project team quality training and mentors the team on project quality deliverables.
- Supports project team with Interface management and management of change processes including as built traceability and verification.
- Provides quality input to project weekly / monthly reports.
- Proactive engagement, recording and sharing of quality lessons learned.
- Manages facilitation of as-built package delivery in collaboration with supply chain, document control, onshore and offshore operations teams, including process for works completion and transfer of custody incl. punchlist closeout and verification.

- Proven application of the quality discipline within projects and operations with previous experience in the supervision and mentoring of quality personnel within a team structure.
- Proven application of the quality discipline within the Renewables, Oil and Gas or Heavy Industry Sector.
- UK Renewables work packages knowledge is desirable g., HV cables manufacturing, offshore installation and test / termination, Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) installation, WTG foundations design, fabrication and installation, Heavy Lift Vessel (HLV) operations and HLV installation equipment.
- Degree level qualification or equivalent experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of quality standards: ISO 9000 Series, ISO 10005, BS EN 10204.
- Good working knowledge of contractual mechanisms and technical codes and standards as applied in the UK Renewables or Oil and Gas Industry is desirable.
- Proven Incident / failure event management, investigation and reporting experience utilising root cause analysis tools and methodologies.
- Excellent organisational, communication, IT literacy and report writing skills.
- Capable of presentation and discussion as quality discipline representative within project and operations team environment and at senior management Level.
- Qualified and experienced lead auditor.
- Proven problem-solving skills, analytical and systematic working approach.
