Title: Associate Accountant

Overview
We are looking for an Associate Accountant to join our FRC Financial Reporting team on a full-time staff basis. The role will be based in our East Campus office in Westhill and report into the FRC Financial Reporting Team Senior Accountant, whilst working closely with Accountants and Associates within a sub team in Financial Reporting. This position would be suited to a graduate with placement experience or someone who has relevant finance experience of preparing reconciliations and analytical analysis of financial information.
It will be exciting, busy, varied and challenging so a ‘hands-on, sleeves-up’ approach is an absolute must. You will work closely with the whole FRC team to deliver a trusted, reliable, and high-quality finance function.

What will you be doing?
The Financial Reporting team are responsible for the financial accounting of legal entities within the Subsea 7 group. This will involve working closely with the regional finance teams to gain understanding about the entities, their operations and transactions, compliance reporting requirements and completing financial reporting requirements for the entities.
In this role you will be responsible for the financial reporting for a specific region. You will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders. There will be many opportunities to learn and develop with the support and collaboration of the team around you.
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and quarterly management accounts for less complex entities and assistance with preparation for larger entities
- Liaise and supply external auditors information regarding year end group accounts and statutory financial statements
- Apply and uphold group accounting policies. A basic understanding of International Accounting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, reporting disclosures would be an advantage
- Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances
- Compliance with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements and ensuring financial controls objectives are met within deadlines set
- Perform entity specific analysis and postings within SAP
- Working closely to develop the relationship with regional Finance teams including Finance Directors to provide value adding service to the regional reporting
- Identify areas of process improvements
- Collaborating closely with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of issues

- Finance or Accounting degree is required
- Experience in a similar role or placement experience in a finance role would be an advantage
- Microsoft Office skills are essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel
