Introduction

 

The Finance Resource Centre (FRC) is a motivated, skilled and highly effective team; a Finance Centre of Excellence.   They have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Cost Centre Accountant.
 

The position offers diverse and challenging activities within a professional, process improvement focused team.  As such, candidates should demonstrate their ability to work as a self-motivated, methodical problem solver.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • Prepare monthly reporting pack for departmental cost centres (both overhead & OOC) including variance analysis and LTF forecast. This will include monthly, quarterly & annual analysis and will cover gross cost and recoveries.
  • Record actual results in the financial systems and prepare LTF forecasts using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Support the Team Lead/Operational Lead in compliance with the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements and ensure Group and Regional reporting objectives and policies are adhered to within deadlines set.
  • Communicate with cost centre Managers to plan, monitor and advise on financial performance, explaining financial information to non-financial personnel.
  • Prepare bottom-up annual budget for relevant cost centres/functions.
  • Prepare reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate backup and critical analysis of the balances.
  • Demonstrate a general understanding of Accounting Standards, principles and Group accounting policies to ensure they are applied and upheld.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure a consistent and high level of service is provided to stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, including senior management, Legal, Tax, Audit, HR and Technical Accounting).
  • Undertake additional adhoc tasks as required for the role, team and project activities.

What experience would we like you to have?

 

  • Degree qualification in a relevant stream (Finance/Accounting/Business). 
  • Demonstrable practical experience within a similar role is preferred.  Also, experience undertaking good quality accurate analysis and analytical review.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and underlying modules (time allocations, fixed assets, inventory, etc) that impact the General Ledger.
  • Practical skills in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Running reports and data extraction for input to Excel models. 
  • Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload while supporting wider team activities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative working; will build effective relationships across all levels of a highly diverse global business.
  • Solutions focused, will identify and develop new methods to improve efficiency and processes.
  • Performance and quality focused, right first-time attitude, with good self-review skills.
  • Customer focused, strives to improve, learn and apply feedback. 
  • Effective planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and consistently meet deadlines.  Adapts to changing workload as required.
