Title:  Fleet Data Analyst

What will you be doing?

 

This is an exciting early career opportunity to join an experienced team who manage and report data for our global fleet of vessels, one of the most modern, capable and diverse fleets in the market.

 

As an internal service provider, the team presents high quality data driven insights to a wide range of international stakeholders to support operational challenges, safety and environmental commitments (such as fleet decarbonisation) and process improvements.

 

You will have access to emerging technologies to perform your role and enjoy the support of colleagues and technical specialists as you develop your skills and increase your responsibilities.

 

Through in-role learning and collaboration you will also gain an exciting insight to our global subsea projects as we support our clients through the energy transition.  

 

Key responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Support the development and deployment of a range of bespoke and third-party systems. 
  • Interact with business functions across the globe to support requests for processing, analysis, and manipulation of technical data from various sources, into consolidated and user-friendly formats and reports.
  • Providing data analysis from digitalisation-related systems deployed across Subsea7’s fleet.
  • Extract information from data sets to identify correlations and patterns.
  • Using data to predict trends across the fleet and the work teams as a whole
  • Performing statistical analysis of data
  • Develop data into easy-to-understand formats, including Microsoft PowerBi dashboards, using various tools and techniques.
  • Preparing internal & external reports and presenting these to P&OO management and additional stakeholders
  • Analyse developing and emerging fleet processes, systems and tools
  • Identify and recommend new ways of working and business efficiencies
  • Verify and assure data quality through the application of our internal data governance processes.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to explain data content and relate to business requirements
  • Develop management system guidance and training to support process improvements
  • Review, quantify and report on standards of digital data information processed offshore
  • Provide support to worksite teams through addressing of technical queries and analysis of acquired datasets
  • Mentor and coach onshore / offshore teams in the utilisation / benefits of data sets / information
  • Any other associated tasks as directed by the Fleet Transformation Manager

 

Stakeholders include external equipment manufacturers, national regulators, flag and classification societies, energy sector associations.  Internally, you will liaise with colleagues from our vessel fleet, equipment and marine teams, project, HSEQ, digitalisation, sustainability and projects.
 

What experience would we like you to have?

 

Subsea7 recognise that talent is found in all industries and as such applicants do not require previous energy sector experience.

  • STEM or Naval Architecture degree/qualification is preferred, but not essential, role relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Thrives working with detail and accuracy, has a keen interest in data science, analytics, statistics, informatics, or similar.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Culturally aware, builds and maintains strong business relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborative team worker who also demonstrates initiative and ownership.
  • Pro-active and solutions-focused, seeks to identify improvements, will challenge the status quo.
  • Accomplished analytical skills, and an ability to work with detail and high accuracy.
  • Effective planning and organising skills, accustomed to meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
  • Adaptable to meet the evolving needs of a 24/7 global business.
  • IT literate across the MS Suite 
  • Prior experience with data manipulation using the Microsoft Power Platform suite, SQL, Python and relevant libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, GeoPandas, Matplotlib etc) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to undertake occasional local or overseas travel.
