Title: Group Environmental Advisor

Overview
Subsea7 are looking for a Group Environmental Advisor to join our team at our Westhill, Aberdeen office or our Sutton, London office on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Group Environmental Director, the chosen candidate will contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of Environmental processes, procedures and work methods including the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. They will also be responsible for leading and communicating Group Environmental initiatives and best practice across all regions and contribute to developing a robust and mature Environmental Compliance plan in line with our corporate HSSE objectives and global initiatives as well as global and local legislative requirements.
What will you be doing?
- Support the Group Environmental Director with environmental planning and strategy and working together with the corporate environmental team.
- Influence and promote relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Monitor emerging environmental legislation through horizon scanning for upcoming environmental legislation changes, preparation for the requirements and advising on environmental challenges on a global level.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing on environmental topics across the business.
- Review and develop the existing company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) and update documentation as necessary.
- Promoting continuous improvements through working with internal stakeholders and preparing effective communication material as and when this is needed.
- Assist as required in response to environmental incidents and risks.
- Educate and raise awareness of environmental topics through training, meetings and other fora.
- Provide Environmental data compliance support and guidance to the Group Environmental Data Advisor and global teams. This includes monthly data checks for external reporting requirements worksites (e.g. energy, waste, fuel, emissions, spills, plastics, travel, efficiencies, initiatives data etc.).
- Familiarisation with RA7 and Review of the Environmental Impact Assessments and assist in developing mandatory minimum global standards.
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply chain, Project & Offshore operations to improve environmental initiatives and the robustness of data.
- Involvement with BORA Blue Ocean Research Alliance® and the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) to develop BORA projects as directed by the Group Environmental Director.
- Support preparation for future environmental reporting requirements globally.
- Perform other ad hoc tasks as and when these are needed.

- Degree / Academic qualification, in an environmental-related discipline; HSEQ, Sustainability, Business, Commercial or Engineering.
- Relevant years’ experience in Environmental or Sustainability function.
- Membership of a recognised environmental professional body – e.g. ISEP.
- Think effectively and be able to challenge and work with various layers of the organisation and in a team.
- Creative and result-oriented mindset (experience with Canva or similar is beneficial).
- Advanced networking, influencing, communication, presentation and analytical skills.
- Passion for environment and sustainability.
- Willingness to travel when required for the job.
