What will you be doing?

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our Offshore Resources (OR) team based in our Westhill, Aberdeen office on a full-time, permanent basis. This position is essential for assisting both onshore and offshore operations while ensuring adherence to HSE standards and encouraging a culture of ongoing development and Predictable Performance. The selected individual will be instrumental in implementing and sustaining our Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.

 

This role will report to the HSEQ Manager for OR, providing HSE guidance to offshore and onshore fleet management teams, reviewing worksite data, maintaining audit schedules, and supporting assurance tasks. It also involves identifying system gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement within HSE framework.

 

This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:

 

•    Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE strategies and management system across global fleet.
•    Support in the planning and execution of Vessel Dry-docking and Technical Stops
•    Develop HSE Plans and Bridging Documentation for Shipyard and Charter Party Vessels
•    Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills
•    Conduct or assist with incident and near-miss investigations using root causation methodologies to identify corrective and preventive actions.
•    Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to personnel and contractors.
•    Conduct Supplier HSE reviews and creation of risk-based audit schedule for external suppliers.
•    Conduct internal HSE reviews and gap analyses to support assurance activities across the global fleet.
•    Manage/verify site HSEQ inspections, reporting findings and effectiveness of corrective action.
•    Provide HSE guidance to onshore and offshore teams, including vessel and marine operations.
•    Review and analyse worksite HSE data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
•    Promote safety initiatives and campaigns.

What experience would we like you to have?

•    Extensive background in a similar position in the energy field, with comprehensive knowledge of HSE legislation in the UK and internationally.
•    Professional HSEQ qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma, IOSH).
•    Qualified and experienced auditor (ISO 45001).
•    Experience in the application of incident investigation methodologies (e.g TopSet or Taproot) and reporting.
•    A good level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively establish relationships and communicate across all levels of stakeholders both internal and external.
•    A high level of analytical skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work, as well as the ability to prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management.
