The Finance Resource Centre (FRC) team work collaboratively to provide accurate accounting services to the global business.  We are now looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join the team with a focus on Financial Reporting.

 

This is a varied and busy role with responsibility for a small team who, together, will deliver accurate and timely financial accounting services to various regional teams.

What will you be doing?

 

You will lead your team to deliver financial reporting tasks for specific management regions. This will include year end and month end tasks, reviewing work completed by Accountants and Associate Accountants and building and maintaining relationships with regional finance teams.  Key responsibilities will be to:

 

  • Lead the preparation to filing process of your region’s statutory financial statements, ensuring high quality statutory financial statements and audit back up are delivered on time
  • Prepare or review technical accounting memos to support accounting decisions
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure deadlines are met and issues are brought to the attention of management when necessary 
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews prepared by the team, providing constructive feedback on improvements to the back up or the approach.  Promptly follow up on unresolved review points and required actions
  • Review team prepared balance sheet reconciliations and analytical reviews, provide feedback and direction on any areas for improvement, following up to ensure issues are resolved
  • Manage the team workload, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Maintain and develop your team’s relationship with regional finance teams, encouraging communication and collaboration to understand and resolve any challenges, and sharing of knowledge to ensure best practice
  • Lead a team providing direction and feedback, including guidance and mentoring as required to fully identify and develop their individual potential and performance
  • Lead in establishing and maintaining best practice, standardisation and ways of working for all FRC entities.  Identify areas for improvement and propose potential solutions
  • Provide training, where required, on technical accounting activities

What experience would we like you to have?

 

  • Qualified Accountant operating at Senior level, with experience across audits and accounts preparation, and specific demonstrable experience within Financial Reporting
  • IFRS and FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process
  • Demonstrates experience providing precise and insightful analysis along with thorough analytical reviews
  • Demonstrates credibility, professionalism and operates with the highest standards of integrity
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial reports, presenting verbally and in writing to financial and non-financial audiences
  • Detail orientated, methodical with a focus on quality and a right-first-time approach
  • Demonstrates initiative and ownership to deliver workload unsupervised while leading and supporting wider team activities
  • Effective planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload and consistently meet multiple, often competing deadlines
  • A collaborative worker who builds effective relationships across all levels of a highly diverse global business
  • People management skills; able to motivate, lead, and develop a team that adjusts to changing workload demands
  • Solutions focused, will identify and develop new methods and ways of working
  • Proficient IT literacy in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and SAP 
  • Exposure to working within a large, multi-national organisation would be beneficial
