What will you be doing?

 

Subsea7's Survey Support team bring together a wealth of knowledge spanning multiple disciplines, enabling us to deliver results in some of the most challenging and interesting global locations.

 

By fostering close collaboration between offshore and onshore survey personnel, solutions are identified and implemented effectively.

 

Our office-based Survey Support Engineer is part of a wider team of equipment and software specialists who support the definition, procurement and interfacing requirements for ROV and vessel deployed survey equipment.  Throughout the project life cycle the role works closely with the Project Surveyor and other internal functions and external service providers.  Duties are to:

 

  • Assist in the selection, interfacing, setup and use of survey equipment.
  • Review project requirements for vessel/ROV mobilisation and facilitate equipment requests.
  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates for survey mobilisations.
  • Brief offshore survey engineering personnel assigned to project.
  • Support offshore engineers through mobilisation and operation, attending mobilisations as required.
  • Work with all stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, return and off-hire of equipment.
  • Review equipment fault reports and facilitate replacements.
  • Maintain vessel equipment inventories and facilitate vessel consumable requests.
  • Ensure relevant vessel and survey equipment configuration documentation is current.
  • Prepare technical notes, procedures and mobilisation plans as required.
  • Own and champion HSEQ responsibilities.
  • Undertake other relevant responsibilities as defined by line manager.

 

What experience would we like you to have?

 

  • Degree or HND level qualification in relevant survey or electronics related discipline.
  • Knowledge of subsea offshore construction, ROV systems and associated survey equipment.
  • Offshore experience with Survey and/or ROV operations is advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS office applications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, builds collaborative relationships across the business.
  • Demonstrates initiative and ownership of tasks while contributing to team activities.
  • Pro-active with a solutions-based approach, willing to challenge the status quo.
  • Self-motivated with commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Committed to professional development through learning, also identification of improved work methods and processes.
  • Flexible to conduct reasonable travel and adapt work pattern to support projects across global timezones.
