Title: Trainee Survey Support Technician

What will you be doing?
As Trainee Survey Support Technician you’ll work onshore at our Aberdeen office alongside Survey Support Engineers.
The role includes assisting our global projects with the definition, procurement and equipment interfacing requirements for ROV and vessel deployed survey equipment.
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate a background in survey and electronic equipment such as that gained in a technical / operations workshop environment.
As an entry level role, we will also consider those with other technical experience, alongside the required qualification, who have an enthusiasm for subsea survey operations.
Subsea / energy industry knowledge would be preferred. Offshore experience is not necessary for the role as additional training will be provided.
Applicants should be prepared to undertake occasional travel, including short/overnight vessel visits.

You’ll support the tracking of project and vessel survey equipment from mobilisation to demobilisation, ensuring that the offshore worksites are supported in respect to the correct setup, calibration and use of equipment and that all technical faults and breakdowns are recorded and reported in a timely manner.
- Assist in the selection, interfacing, setup and use of survey equipment for Project Surveyors, field staff and operational stakeholders as required.
- Support the creation of internal equipment requests and purchase requisitions.
- Verify receipt of correct equipment and update trackers.
- Assist in the timely return and off-hire of equipment to/from offshore worksites.
- Participate and assist with vessel worksite equipment mobilisation support as required.
- Support the review of equipment fault reports, facilitating replacements to vessels.
- Administer vessel and survey equipment configuration documentation.
- Assist Survey Support Engineers maintain vessel inventories and facilitate consumable requests.
- Contribute to preparation of technical notes, procedures and mobilisation plans.
- Assist the compilation of regular project equipment hire/loss and costs reports.
What experience would we like you to have?
- HNC or higher qualification in relevant electronics/electrical related discipline.
- Experience / knowledge of hydrographic survey operations & equipment; desirable not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated with the commitment to learn and undertake development.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, builds collaborative relationships across the business.

- Good planning and organising skills, able to identify and effectively prioritise workload.
