Title: Port Engineer

What will you be doing?
Subsea7 is hiring a Port Engineer that ensures all engineering, machinery, propulsion, and technical systems onboard Subsea 7 owned and subcontracted vessels comply with Saudi Aramco requirements, statutory and class rules, and company HSEQ standards.
The role leads technical readiness for on‑hire inspections, machinery performance oversight, PMS compliance, and acts as the main interface for technical matters with Aramco QA&CU, RMO, PMT/OPD, vessel owners, and port authorities.
Reporting & Location
• Reports to: Marine Assurance Manager (OOK/Regional).
• Location: In Kingdom (KSA) with frequent travel to ports (Ras Tanura, Ju’aymah, Duba, Jeddah, Jizan, Tanajib) and project sites; occasional regional and international travels as required.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Readiness & Engineering Assurance: Perform OOK and IK inspections and sea trials; validate machinery, propulsion, generators, thrusters, critical systems readiness.
• On‑Hire Compliance: Attend Aramco On‑Hire inspections with Port Captain; ensure all engineering systems meet BMVS&R, SAMCVS&R, and contract scope.
• Class & Statutory Compliance: Verify validity of engineering certificates (hull/machinery/Class surveys, safety systems, FFA/LSS, DP systems).
• PMS & Technical Monitoring: Monitor vessel PMS execution, engineering logs, technical KPIs, critical spares, and performance trends.
• Engineering Crew Compliance: Assess Chief Engineers and engine crew for competency; ensure alignment with Aramco Key Marine Personnel requirements.
• Safety Leadership: Conduct quarterly technical safety inspections, CEHA engineering items, and support audits and incident investigations.
• Technical Documentation & Communication: Maintain updated Aramco technical rules, manuals, engineering procedures onboard and in office.
• Interface Management: Liaise with owners, technical superintendents, shipyards, class surveyors, OEMs, and Aramco technical departments.
What experience would we like you to have?
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
• Chief Engineer (STCW III/2) – Unlimited.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on offshore vessels; prior Port Engineer or Aramco project experience preferred.
• Valid BOSIET/FOET with HUET, OGUK medical, H2S.
• Strong knowledge of BMVS&R, SAMCVS&R, Aramco GI’s, Offshore Operational Manuals.
• Familiarity with OVID/CMID, Class rules, FMEA, DP trials (where applicable).
• Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
