Join a global leader in offshore energy as we expand our HSE team in Baku, Azerbaijan.  We are hiring an HSE Team Lead on a full-time, contract basis to join our UK & Global IRM division for an initial period of 12 months.

 

You will ensure full compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations while actively promoting a positive safety culture that minimises risks to personnel, the environment and project assets. You will provide continuous support, guidance and expert advice on HSE matters to all worksite personnel, including suppliers. As a key member of the Subsea7 Project Leadership Team, you will lead on all aspects of country and project HSE management and performance. Your primary focus will be promoting ongoing improvements in HSE performance and embedding a positive, proactive HSE culture across the project.

 

Our UK & Global IRM division are the team responsible for the practical execution and delivery of a variety of IRM and Construction Projects across the world. They work with a variety of projects, ranging from IRM (Inspection, Repair and Maintenance) work to large EPIC projects, including working with our Bundles Pipeline technology. 

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:

 

  • Incorporate the UK&GIRM HSE vision and strategies into Country and Project delivery plans
  • Establish and maintain a good relationship with the client and suppliers 
  • Work with Project Manager and Country Manager in assigning individuals to local HSE roles, evaluate performance and co-ordinate their professional development
  • Provide input to budgets and controlling costs for the function
  • Responsible for the effective implementation of the Project and Country HSE objectives and focus areas 
  • Ensure execution of company auditing requirements across Project and Country activities
  • Ensures incidents are investigated to the required level, learnings captured and actions tracked to completion
  • Ensures an increasing focus on environmental and occupational health issues
  • Supports activities in meeting the requirements of the ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards 

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Good knowledge of the health, safety and environmental legislative requirements specific to Azerbaijan and demonstrable experience within HSE in the Oil and Gas, Construction or Subsea Industries
  • A good understanding of the requirements of the ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards
  • An effective leader with an ability to communicate clearly at all levels, balance and prioritise workload, plan, monitor and deliver
  • Positive personal approach which engages the team and able through coaching and mentoring to develop the team capabilities
  • Chartered Member of IOSH or equivalent HSE professional qualification
  • Conversant with HSEMS, legislative framework, audit, incident management, risk management, training and behavioural based approaches
  • Qualified Lead Auditor
  • Trained in Incident Investigation Analysis
