Join a global leader in offshore energy as we expand our Supply Chain Management team in Baku, Azerbaijan.  We are hiring a Senior SCM Specialist on a full-time, contract basis to join our UK & Global IRM division for an initial period of 12 months.

 

This is an exciting, varied role supporting both offshore and onshore operations, live tenders, and a range of indirect categories including facilities, global IT, and wider corporate services.

 

Our UK & Global IRM division are the team responsible for the practical execution and delivery of a variety of IRM and Construction Projects across the world. They work with a variety of projects, ranging from IRM (Inspection, Repair and Maintenance) work to large EPIC projects, including working with our Bundles Pipeline technology. 

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:

 

  • Ensuring compliance with Supply Chain policies, processes, systems, and procedures
  • Managing sourcing activities by obtaining competitive bids for materials, rentals, and services that meet technical, quality, budget, and schedule requirements
  • Negotiating and awarding commitments with suppliers that secure the most advantageous commercial and contractual terms
  • Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring structured feedback through established assessment tools
  • Expediting purchase orders to safeguard delivery timelines and resolve supply issues
  • Embedding lessons learned and promoting best practice to reduce risk and uphold company values
  • Building relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, including conducting site visits
  • Supporting the implementation of Supply Chain strategy and contributing to local SCM initiatives
  • Coaching and guiding junior team members to build the capability of the local SCM function

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Previous experience in a senior SCM, procurement, or commercially focused role
  • Previous subcontracting experience would be an advantage
  • Good IT capability, particularly with Microsoft 365; experience with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba or similar systems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in English across all levels
  • Good negotiator with established networking experience
