Title: Site Fabrication Engineer

Join a global leader in offshore energy as we expand our team in Baku, Azerbaijan. We are hiring a Site Fabrication Engineer on a full-time, contract basis to join our UK & Global IRM division for an initial period of 12 months.
The role will provide technical leadership and governance across fabrication activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and Subsea7 Business Management System (BMS) requirements.
Our UK & Global IRM division are the team responsible for the practical execution and delivery of a variety of IRM and Construction Projects across the world. They work with a variety of projects, ranging from IRM (Inspection, Repair and Maintenance) work to large EPIC projects, including working with our Bundles Pipeline technology.
This role will involve periodic travel to fabrication yards, vendor facilities, and offshore/onshore sites (domestic and international) so candidates should be willing and able to comply with this.
What will you be doing?
- Act as the technical authority and focal point for the fabrication discipline within assigned projects.
- Ensure all fabrication activities are executed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and project requirements.
- Provide specialist engineering input covering structural fabrication, piping fabrication and integration of instrumentation and control systems.
- Review and interpret client specifications, datasheets, fabrication drawings, isometrics, material specifications and procurement documentation.
- Oversee fabrication subcontractor and vendor deliverables.
- Develop detailed scopes of work for fabrication packages.
- Support procurement and subcontracting activities.
- Interface with fabrication yards and site teams.
- Ensure effective management of change control processes related to fabrication scope.

- Qualification in Fabrication, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience in a Project Engineering or Project Management role, covering the full project lifecycle, including FEED, detailed design, fabrication, testing, and installation, within a fabrication yard or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working on offshore oil & gas, subsea structures, or similar complex engineering projects.
- Working knowledge of international standards including but not limited to ISO, EN, ASME, AWS.
- Knowledge of welding engineering, including procedure qualification (WPS/PQR), and weld integrity assurance.
- Knowledge of non-destructive examination (NDE/NDT) techniques (UT, RT, MT, PT)
- Advanced understanding of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW, SAW)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and isometric drawings
- Proficiency in estimating tools, planning software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate effective negotiation skills and supplier management.
- Demonstrable experience working with shifting deadlines, collaborative and comfortable working in a busy global environment.
