Title:  Site HSE Advisor

Join a global leader in offshore energy as we expand our HSE team in Baku, Azerbaijan.  We are hiring a Site HSE Advisor on a full-time, contract basis to join our UK & Global IRM division for an initial period of 12 months.

 

You will ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations and promote a positive safety culture, with the aim of minimising risks to personnel, the environment and equipment. You will continuously provide support, advice and guidance on HSE matters to worksite personnel, including suppliers.

 

Our UK & Global IRM division are the team responsible for the practical execution and delivery of a variety of IRM and Construction Projects across the world. They work with a variety of projects, ranging from IRM (Inspection, Repair and Maintenance) work to large EPIC projects, including working with our Bundles Pipeline technology. 

What will you be doing?

This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities include:

 

  • Champion a positive HSE culture across the worksite by maintaining high visibility, engaging with teams, and promoting continuous improvement
  • Promoting and ensuring compliance with Regulatory HSE requirements, Subsea7 Policies and Procedures and Site Contractor and Client HSE requirements
  • Lead and participate in site HSE meetings, ensuring accurate preparation, documentation, and distribution of action points
  • Conduct regular HSE audits and inspections, and actively participate in Toolbox Talks and Shift Briefings to reinforce safe working practices
  • Support the development, preparation, and facilitation of risk assessments, ensuring hazards are identified and effectively controlled
  • Deliver engaging and informative HSE training to onsite personnel, enhancing awareness and competency
  • Report, investigate, and document incidents and near misses, contributing to root cause analysis and the development of effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Communicate HSE expectations clearly across the workforce, providing coaching and guidance to individuals and teams to strengthen overall safety performance

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Good working knowledge of Azerbaijan’s health, safety, and environmental legislation, with the ability to apply requirements effectively across site operations.
  • Proven capability to manage, track, and accurately record HSE deliverables, maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all organisational levels, prioritise workload, and plan, monitor, and deliver tasks efficiently
  • Well‑versed in HSE Management Systems (HSEMS), regulatory frameworks, auditing processes, incident management, risk management, training delivery, and behavioural‑based safety approaches
  • Trained and competent in Incident Investigation and Analysis, contributing to robust root‑cause identification and corrective action development
  • Demonstrable HSE experience within the Oil & Gas, Onshore Construction, and Subsea industries, with a good understanding of operational challenges and safety expectations
  • Experience in worksite HSE setup, contractor oversight, and supplier management to ensure safe and compliant operations
  • Additional specialised HSE training or certifications are desirable and will be considered an advantage
