What will you be doing?
Subsea7 is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with evidenced work experience acting as a trusted advisor to business managers across multiple African countries. The HRBP will act as the first point of contact for HR matters in the region and provide operational support to the Africa HR Manager in implementing regional initiatives. The role ensures delivery of consistent, high-quality HR support and initiatives in areas such as resource planning, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, and employee relations, while ensuring compliance with local labour laws and company policies. The role is based in Cairo under the Human Resources Department.
- Partner with line and department managers across designated African countries to understand business objectives and develop tailored HR solutions and interventions.
- Support the Africa HR Manager in executing regional HR strategies, initiatives, and policies.
- Work closely with hiring managers to address the sourcing, recruitment and retention of local talent.
- Provide insights on workforce trends, talent needs, and organizational effectiveness.
- Liaise with global Human Resources Business Partners to come up and develop local HR solutions.
- Implement the global talent review practices locally.
- Support succession planning, competencies’ development, and career progression for key roles across the region.
- Work with Learning & Development teams to identify training needs and deliver programs that build capability.
- Encourage initiatives to build an engaged workforce and inclusive culture.
- Support implementation of global and regional employee engagement surveys, action planning, and follow-up.
- Deliver and implement Subsea7’s performance management system guiding managers and employees on performance management processes, including goal-setting, feedback, and development planning.
- Provide advice and support on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent treatment across geographies.
- Manage employee lifecycle
- Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the function's activities within the designated area of responsibility, considering local employment legislations.
- Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and regulations in each country of responsibility covering all internal and external audit requirements and be the focal point for the country for such audits.
- Partner with legal and compliance teams to mitigate HR-related risks.
- Ensures the implementation of and adherence to Subsea7's Management System, professional tools, policies, systems and processes.
- Support the implementation of compensation and benefits programs, and annual compensation review processes and reward programs in partnership with Total Rewards team.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, transfers, contract management).
- Partner with HR Shared Services to resolve employee queries ensuring efficient delivery of HR services and accuracy and compliance of all HR data.
- Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement of HR processes and policies across countries and supports the standardization, compliance and efficiency of Functional policies, processes and systems across Subsea7.
- Ensures Human Resources capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently.
What experience would we like you to have?
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
• HR professional certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, HRCI) is preferred.
• Evidenced experience with 10+ years of HR experience, including at least 3–5 years in a business partner role.
• Evidenced experience in HR advisory and business partnering generalist role; existing knowledge of oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated working experience providing guidance and support to business leaders and management on the recruitment, L&D, OD, rewards & benefits policies while ensuring compliance.
• Effective in building constructive and professional relationships with all stakeholders and colleagues across geographical locations.
• Developed or contributed to the development of relevant HR plans, annual objectives and overall countries strategy.
• Working experience guiding and advising line managers on HR matters and people management practices.
• Fluency in English, French and Arabic spoken and written.
• Creative yet pragmatic problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working based on best practices and evidenced research
• Sound communication skills throughout all levels of the business
• Ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously in a structured work schedule.
