Title: Project Interface Engineer
Cairo, EG
We are looking for a Project Interface Engineer to support our Global Project Centre, based in our Cairo, Egypt office. This is a 12 month contract role and will report into the Project Interface Manager.
What will you be doing?
General Responsibilities
- Coordinate technical exchanges with Company and its Contractors to resolve interface issues within project timelines.
- Ensure traceability of all technical communications to support alignment and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Project Teams to integrate Company Provided Items (CPIs) into engineering and execution schedules.
- Support Interface Manager in ensuring compliance with technical interface requirements.
- Escalate unresolved interface issues to Project Management.
- Participate in technical meetings and correspondence, involving Engineering Team as needed.
- Understand cross-discipline project interfaces and maintain effective communication across geographically dispersed teams.
Discipline-Specific Responsibilities
- Upon contract award, review Subsea7’s full scope of work and identify all external interface parties. Establish communication channels—either directly or via the Company—and confirm nominated contacts for each party. Ensure all interface communications include relevant personnel. Develop and distribute an interface procedure to clearly define roles and responsibilities.
- Be familiar with all relevant contractual aspects and support Project Team as necessary.
- Ensure effective interface control across the project scope, whether between Subsea7 and the Company or its Contractors. Coordinate internally across Subsea7 disciplines to resolve interface issues within required timelines.
- Develop and maintain an interface management system, including logging, tracking, and closing interface requests.
- Identify and resolve interface issues proactively, ensuring alignment on responsibilities and documentation.
- Participate or chair interface coordination meetings and workshops with key internal and external stakeholders to fulfil role of Project representative at meetings for Subsea7. Participate in design reviews, action tracking, scheduling and risk reviews to help identify criticality of interface matters, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Project Management Team,
- Identify and provide inputs to the Project Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Fabrication Manager as well as the Project Manager in developing project execution strategies.
- Coordinate CPI handovers either from Company or Company’s Contractors with Quality team.
- Respond to technical queries from Company and Company’s Contractors professionally, collaborating with relevant disciplines.
- Be flexible to work from remote locations in non-Subsea7 offices and deliver daily duties with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
Project-Specific Responsibilities
- Support Project Interface Manager with:
- Interface datasheet tracker ownership and updates.
- Weekly follow-up on open interface topics.
- CPI focal point duties and biweekly follow-ups.
- CPI tracker ownership and reconciliation.
- CPI documentation register creation.
- CPI receipt tracking and damage reporting.
- CPI maintenance and preservation follow-up.
- Assist with in-country logistics/supply chain, fabrication, and operations as needed.

- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in the offshore/oil and gas industry
- Detail orientated to ensure traceability of communication exchanges and project schedule requirements are respected.
- Excellent English & Arabic communication skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined and multicultural team.
- Confidence to independently evaluate, organize and prioritize work for self and others to meet deadlines.
- Excellent understanding and knowledge of the Project Contract.
