What will you be doing?
Role Overview
The Commercial Lead (Tender Engineer) is responsible for the effective coordination and consolidation of all commercial inputs from internal support functions and relevant consortium/alliance partners to develop the tender commercial proposal.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish the platform to support an effective tender submission through development of, tender organization and resources plan, tender delivery and meeting schedule, tender budget preparation and administration structure and process.
- Support the Pursuit team and Tender Lead/Proposal Manager to identify and validate the client’s drivers and develop the winning execution strategy. Ensure these key points are well communicated to the tender team and properly responded to in client proposal and during clarifications.
- Develop the ITT review matrix and support the tender coordinator to ensure the ITT is received, distributed and reviewed, and all clarifications consolidated for return to client. Ensure that all subsequent tender bulletins, and clarification responses are received, distributed and reviewed.
- Develop the Commercial deliverables matrix and support the Technical Lead with the compilation of the overall Tender Deliverables Matrix
- Control the efficient performance of the tender through; strict adherence to the tender schedule/budget, action tracking and close out, facilitation of weekly and gate review meetings and budget tracking.
- Provide an effective link between technical team, the supply chain and the Estimator to ensure each party is aware of and adheres to the tender schedule to provide the earliest possible input into the cost model.

- Committed to the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity with strict adherence to the Subsea 7 and SIA tendering processes
- Comprehensive understanding of all elements of the commercial proposal; PME, SCM, PG, Fabrication, Operations and logistics, finance and other projects costs, Tax, Overhead, Contribution and JLI.
- Thorough and has analytical skills to consolidate, challenge, review and present confidently all elements of the tender costing
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial strategy and risk and able to prepare, with support of Tender Lead, a commercial proposal and associated qualifications to secure the win and deliver a project with the agreed level of profitability.
- Strong communication and time management skills with the ability to coordinate, track and motivate tender team to meet deliverables within the time constraints.
- Committed to collaborative working in a diverse, multi-location team environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of Subsea 7 and SIA’s evolving differentiators and capable to combined these, with an awareness of the competitors’ strengths and weaknesses into a winning proposal
