Title:  Senior HSE Advisor

What will you be doing?

The Senior HSSE Advisor acts as the focal point for designated Project HSE Management Matters. They shall provide a support function to Project Management, ensuring adequate HSSE input and provide a mentoring role to the HSSE Advisors and Associate HSSE Advisors (I.e. HSE Supervisors and HSE Officers).

They shall be responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to designated areas of the business including Projects and to the HSSE function, as required.

They contribute to the development and implementation of processes, procedures, work methods and initiatives in support of Subsea 7’s, and its applicable Clients, overall HSSE strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages and leads their direct reports aligned with the overall expectations of the function and respective Client’s.
  • Plans for the resources required for the Project and work scopes accordingly.
  • Leads a positive HSSE culture and behaviors across Subsea7 and particularly within their sphere of influence
  • Champion the Subsea7 Critical Safety Behaviors Programme, setting the tone and leading by example.
  • Ensures compliance to HSSE Policies, Processes and Procedures.
  • Proactively engages with the team including the Projects and Management including the workforce to ensure alignment of the business goals.
  • Responsible for the efficient, timely, accurate and cost-effective management and delivery of the function’s and Project’s activities within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates the compilation of HSSE Performance Statistics and records for publication including carrying out trend analysis reviews.
  • Responsible for the development of specific HSSE Plans and Procedures accordingly for the Project and function, as required.
  • Supports the implementation of the operational elements of the HSSE strategy as well as support specific HSSE activities.
  • Interface with colleagues in HSSE to coordinate the local HSSE services and provide advice.
  • Analyses budget costs and supports the team in preparation of annual budget submissions, as applicable.
  • Liaises with Client representatives on HSSE matters and participates in relevant Client HSSE forums.
  • Ensure all Project activities meet HSSE regulatory requirements, Client’s requirements, and Project specific HSSE requirements.

What experience would we like you to have?

  • Relevant previous experience (Minimum 7 Years) at an appropriate Senior level ideally working within the HSSE sector for Oil & Gas Marine Offshore Construction, etc.).
  • Ideally has previous Senior related experience in HSSE.
  • Regional experience working within the subsea offshore or related industry, some of which must be in a dedicated HSSE Marine Offshore Oil & Gas Construction position.
  • Regional experience of directly interfacing between clients, contractors, suppliers, project team members and the workforce.
  • Degree / Academic Qualification in an HSSE related discipline
  • Membership of a recognized HSE professional body (IOSH, CSP, etc.).
  • Hold relevant HSSE Certification (NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH or equivalent).
  • Ideally has experience (evident with previous approval letters) and knowledge regarding key Middle East Clients (Preferably Saudi Aramco).
  • Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) skills.
  • Possess strong communication and coordination skills.
